VIPS Legal Aid Clinic conducted a legal aid drive in Haiderpur Village on 17th February 2026 to spread awareness about consumer rights and redressal mechanisms . Dr. Richa Srivastava, along with the students, interacted with local residents and identified the concerns. The drive succeeded in its objective to spread legal awareness among residents and provided students with practical exposure to grassroots challenges and strengthening access to justice and community engagement.

VIPS Legal Aid Clinic , VSLLS, Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies–Technical Campus, performed a powerful street play in Bawana Village under the aegis of the North District Legal Services Authority on 3rd February,2026. The initiative was part of ‘Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat’ campaign. Through the impactful performances and strong social messaging, the students raised awareness about the evils of child marriage and the importance of education, equality, and legal rights for every child.
The street play sparked meaningful conversations within the community and reinforced the collective responsibility to build a future where every child is free to learn, grow, and dream.

VIPS Legal Aid Clinic , VSLLS, Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies–Technical Campus, performed a street play in Samaypur Badli under the aegis of the North District Legal Services Authority on 27th January 2026. The initiative formed part of the ongoing ‘Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat’ campaign, spanning a period of 100 days. The performance of Mashaal, VLAC nukkad natak group centered on the theme of prohibition of child marriage, effectively disseminating awareness on the socio-legal dimensions of the practice. Through impactful dialogue and engaging dramatization, the students highlighted the legal provisions, consequences, and broader implications associated with child marriage, thereby sensitizing the community and promoting legal consciousness.

On September 13th, 2025, National Lok Adalat was organized under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority. Our VIPS Legal Aid Clinic students offered their assistance as per the duties assigned to them in eleven District Legal Services Authorities of Delhi State Legal Services Authority. We are grateful to DSLSA for the opportunity provided to our students.

The Students of the VIPS Legal Aid Clinic, under the aegis of the North West District Legal Services Authority, visited Tihar Jail on 27th & 28th August. 🏛️

The visit offered practical exposure to prison systems, sensitizing students to the realities of inmate conditions, challenges faced by undertrials and convicts, and the rehabilitation measures within the prison. ✨📖

The Para Legal Volunteers Training Programme, successfully conducted from 21st–23rd August 2025 by the Delhi State Legal Services Authority, concluded with a grand valedictory ceremony.

The occasion was graced by Hon’ble Mr. Justice V. Kameswar Rao, Judge, High Court of Delhi & Executive Chairman, DSLSA, as the Chief Guest, who also inaugurated the Legal Services Centre & Literary Zone at VIPS-TC.

We were honoured by the presence of Sh. Rajeev Bansal, Member Secretary, DSLSA; Sh. Gurvinder Pal Singh, Principal District & Sessions Judge, North-West District, Rohini Courts; and Ms. Nisha Sahay Saxena, Principal District & Sessions Judge, North District, Rohini Courts.

We extend our sincere gratitude to DSLSA for their continued support and guidance in fostering the spirit of legal aid and service.

Day 2 of Para Legal Volunteers Training 2025

The Para Legal Volunteers Training Programme, organised by the Delhi State Legal Services Authority , continued on 22nd August 2025 with another day of engaging sessions.

The day witnessed the valuable presence of Ms. Nidhi Chitkara, Secretary, South East DLSA; Sh. K. B. Rai, Former Advisor, Administrative Reforms Dept.; Sh. Abhitesh Kumar, Secretary, West DLSA; Sh. Rishabh Tanwar, Secretary, North DLSA.

The sessions focused on a variety of themes such as sexual offences against women under BNS, the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, laws relating to children with special emphasis on cybercrimes, rights of senior citizens, transgender persons and SC/ST communities, the Right to Information Act, 2005, and key schemes of NALSA and DSLSA including the Delhi Victims’ Compensation Scheme, 2018 and deployment of PLVs in cases involving missing children.

Day 1 of Para Legal Volunteers Training 2025

The Para Legal Volunteers Training Programme was organised by the Delhi State Legal Services Authority for the students of VSLLS , VIPS-TC . The training commenced on 21st August 2025 with an insightful inaugural session.

The programme was enriched by the presence of distinguished dignitaries including Sh. Rajeev Bansal, Member Secretary, DSLSA; Ms. Tanvi Khurana, Special Secretary, DSLSA; Sh. Mridul Gupta, Additional Secretary, DSLSA; Sh. Abhinav Pandey, Secretary (Litigation), DSLSA; Sh. Kumar Rahul, Secretary, New Delhi DLSA; Ms. Kanika Jain, Secretary, North West DLSA; and Sh. Vikas Chandwani, Soft Skill Trainer.

The sessions covered a wide array of themes such as the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, the role and responsibilities of PLVs, the criminal justice system, matrimonial laws, and effective communication skills.
