Effective 20 January 2021, Canada visa applicants who have submitted applications for categories of student (SP) and family class priority – spouses, partners and children (FCP), Work permit (WP), Returning Students & workers can enrol biometrics at Canada Visa Applications Centres in India.

** Returning Students and returning Workers will need to book an appointment using their current study and work permit application number listed on the new permit document & upload the new permit document instead of the BILs.

Please note that all Visa Application Centres (VACs) across India will remain closed for the month of September, and restrictions on entry into Canada remain in effect until September 30th. The High Commission of Canada is operating with limited staff and providing critical services only.

While the VACs are closed, please do not mail your passports or applications to the High Commission of Canada; they will be returned without any action taken. All paper applications and passports are to be submitted through the VACs once they re-open.

Unless applying under the Student Direct Stream, most study permits don't have language test requirements. There are currently no online language tests that are acceptable for immigration purposes. Duolingo is not acceptable
