On April 19th, Rho Chi hosted its annual Rho Chi Challenge during UHCOP's Spring Picnic. UHCOP students teamed up with faculty members, as they worked together to test their pharmacy knowledge and competed against other teams. Thank you to everyone that attended the event, especially our wonderful faculty members who participated!

On April 16th, Rho Chi partnered with SSHP to host our 2nd annual "Are You Smarter Than a Pharmacist?" event, where students from various classes tested their pharmacy knowledge and competed against fellow classmates. Thank you to everyone that attended the event and special thank you to our fantastic pharmacist panel: Dr. Tyler Kiles, Dr. Elisabeth Sulaica, and Dr. Jeff Sherer.

This past week Rho Chi partnered with APhA, SSHP, SNPhA, SCCP, and VAPSS for a health fair at South Shaver Elementary School. This was a great opportunity to utilize our skills to provide health screenings and education to children and their parents. We were able to have an even bigger impact by collaborating with other organizations! Thank you to everyone who came out!!

The Rho Chi Beta Omicron Chapter held its first general meeting of the semester, where we recapped our activity so far and discussed future events. Thank you to all the members who attended!

On January 30th, the Rho Chi Beta Omicron Chapter hosted a workshop to help UHCOP students understand different treatment options for acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Thank you cardiology clinical specialist Dr. Melanie Madorsky, faculty Dr. Kimberly Birtcher, and P4 student Ngan Nguyen for making this event as informative and interactive as possible. We hope the workshop gave P3 students the necessary tools to succeed, not only on their first integrated exam, but also on future rotations!

The Rho Chi Beta Omicron Chapter partnered with Phi Lambda Sigma - UHCOP Upsilon Chapter this past weekend to give back to the community before Thanksgiving. Thank you to the members from both organizations who participated at the event and helped ensure families are fed for the holidays!

Dr. Alex C. Varkey, Pharm.D., M.S., FAPhA was our distinguished speaker for this year’s Robert L. Boblitt Lecture Series. In his lecture, “Pharmacy’s Future: It Can Be What You Think… It WILL Be What You Do”, he gave valuable insight to UH College of Pharmacy (UHCOP) students on the future role of pharmacists and how we are capable of expanding the profession’s horizon. Furthermore, the Rho Chi Beta Omicron Chapter inducted its newest members to honor their academic achievements at UHCOP.

Rho Chi had the pleasure of having Dr. Kenneth R. Baker, BS Pharm, J.D., to come to our annual Boblitt lecture to speak to UH students about "Who We Are and Who We Ought to Be- An Ethical Look at Pharmacist' Obligations to Patients and Society".

We want to thank everyone who came out to the Spring Picnic this past week, especially participants who competed in the Rho Chi challenge.

Congrats to faculty member, Dr. Lindsay Schwarz, and her team for winning 1st place in the challenge.

Tomorrow, Wednesday March 29th from 10 am - 5 pm.

WHERE?
UH Main Campus in front of the Student Center circular drive way.
Parking is available to guests in the Welcome Center garage, underground Hilton, and/or available lots in the area.

Please come out to donate and support!
