Planning a visa run with a child?🚌
It’s easier than it seems — when you know the key details.

Your child must have their own passport and visa 🛂
If they’re included in a parent’s passport, a visa cannot be issued.
A 45-day entry stamp is sometimes possible, but only if the passport is valid for at least 6 months ⏳

On the road: children under 6 can share a seat with a parent 👶
Kids 6+ need their own seat 🪑

Bring water, snacks, spare clothes, and something to keep your child entertained 🎒🧸🍎
The trip can be long, so preparation really helps.

And don’t forget about other passengers: comfort and calm are the parents’ responsibility 🤍🙂

Everything goes smoothly when it’s planned in advance ✨

😱 Electronic Immigration Declaration for Entry into Vietnam

Starting April 15, 2026, new entry procedures for foreign travelers were introduced at Tan Son Nhat International Airport. It has now been 12 days since the changes took effect, and after analyzing the situation, we’re answering the most common questions our managers have been receiving.

❓Do travelers actually need to provide the declaration?
We spoke with dozens of clients who recently arrived through Tan Son Nhat Airport, and so far none of them were asked to show the electronic declaration. How long this situation will continue — and when the system will begin operating fully — is still unclear.

❓What about other entry points into Vietnam?
At the moment, these new procedures apply only to arrivals through Ho Chi Minh City airport. At other entry points, including land borders, travelers are currently not being asked for this declaration.

❓How long before arrival should the declaration be completed?
The form becomes available 72 hours before arrival, but it can technically be submitted even while standing in line at passport control.

❓Should you prepare the declaration in advance just in case?
If you are traveling alone and feel comfortable filling out the form on arrival, you can wait until you are specifically asked for it. However, if you are traveling with family members and need to complete several declarations, it’s much easier to do it calmly in advance.

We’ve prepared a short guide for you 👇

🔗 Official form:
https://prearrival.immigration.gov.vn/apps/submit-document/foreign?nat=ALA

Please complete all fields marked with an asterisk:
— nationality
— arrival date and passport details
— phone number and email address
— visa type:
• “e-visa” — if you are entering with an electronic visa
• “Default visa exemption by country” — if you are entering visa-free and receiving an entry stamp
— purpose of travel (choose “tourism purposes”)
— under “travel information,” provide your method of arrival, flight number, border checkpoint, and accommodation address

❗️After submitting the form, you will receive a verification code by email. Once confirmed, a QR code will appear immediately. Save it and be ready to show it at passport control if requested.

If you receive any new information or have additional questions, feel free to message us directly.

Don’t trust visa questions to ChatGPT — it doesn’t always know the latest regulations, doesn’t account for real-life situations or the human factor.
In matters like this, practical experience and understanding how things actually work at the border are key.

We provide clear and up-to-date answers to all your questions.

📅 Just a reminder: April 25–27 and April 30 – May 3 are public holidays in Vietnam.
The immigration office will not operate as usual.

What this means:

✅ Border runs (for stamp) — operating as usual:
Nha Trang, Mui Ne, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Hoi An, Phu Quoc

⚠️ Visa runs (for visas):
until April 24, then April 28–29, and from May 4 onwards

💸 Visa processing during holidays — via duty officer:
cost: 3,600,000₫
⏱️ approval on the same day before 17:00 (if submitted before 15:30)

⚡️ During holidays, demand and prices are higher —
we recommend booking in advance to avoid overpaying and delays

😱 Bloggers say you can extend your visa without leaving Vietnam.

A tourist visa CANNOT be extended while staying in Vietnam. There are absolutely no ways to do this — even for money. Even for a lot of money. You still need to go on a visa run.

👉 Here are your options:
⚡️ for a stamp:
- if your citizenship allows it, you just need to leave the country, come back to Vietnam and get a new visa-free stamp;
⚡️ for a visa:
- apply on your own and wait (at best) from 4 days in another country while your application is processed (and if corrections are requested, it will take at least that long again),
- organized visa run with us: wait at the border for 1 hour or more, get your coveted visa, and return home the same day.

📌 Also important:
• your passport must have blank pages for stamps,
• no violations of Vietnam’s visa regulations.

💬 For more details, message us in DM — we’ll help you figure everything out and get everything properly arranged.
