Cái sự Slow-Burn này rất hiếm tác giả Âu - Mỹ áp dụng. Một trong những lý do khiến cho tiểu thuyết Âu-Mỹ nói chung và các tác phẩm văn học Âu-Mỹ nói riêng ít được ưa chuộng ở VN đó là flow quá nhanh. Hôm nay họ quen nhau hôm sau họ đã đắp chăn cho nhau rồi 🤣🤣 Á Đông không thích motif như thế. Vì vậy, văn học Tấn Giang lại được ưa chuộng hơn.
Tuy nhiên, trong bộ Letter of Enchantment này, Rebecca Ross đã theo đuổi motif slow-burn này, vì thế đây là một trong những bộ dù khá khó đọc (dù gì cũng là Romantasy mà), nhưng cũng đã ráng lê lết được hơn 50% và sẽ cố gắng đến khi clear hết quyển. Và đặc biệt là yếu tố Enemies to Lovers luôn khiến ta muốn theo đuổi chúng đến cùng :))))
Ai thường xuyên đọc thrillers cũng sẽ biết nếu đang gây cấn nhưng lại phải buông sách xuống vì 1 lý do nào đó, thì có khi ta sẽ không muốn đọc tiếp quyển đấy nữa vào lần cầm sách tiếp theo. Đối với quyển này cũng thế, nhưng mình vẫn sẽ cố gắng clear vì motif, vì sự logic của mạch truyện khiến mình ấn tượng.

Feranmut, the race of Family of Sui is based on a kind of tree, fern.
Fern, when ever its leaves fall, the new ferns will grow and rise on their own. And the reason for the name Feranmut that goes after fern is because Feranmuts are biologically immortal, but can be killed or “shattered” into multiple fragments or avatars, which have their own characteristic and personalities.

Penance - Lavinia Falcone, inspired by the real person, Giovanni Falcone, who is an Italian judge and prosecuting magistrate. He spent most of his professional life to overthrow the Sicilian Mafia. But in the end, he was assassinated by one of the Sicilian Mafia.
The difference between Lavinia and Giovanni is Laviania had been supported by the Bellone, one of the three mafia in Siracusa. To protect herself and her career, she formed an uneasy friendship with Bellone including having frequent contract with the famiglia’s heir Leontuzzo - Vigil. Later, she was freed from the Bellone, she build a whole new legal system without the influence of the famigile and work as legal consultant for Vigil in Volsinii. She is the first Siỉacusan city that is free of maàia’s influence.
