The Business of Becoming™

Power Circle family,
Let me ask you something that sits beneath strategy.
In the age of AI…
Are you building faster?
Or are you becoming deeper?
Because those are not the same thing.
Artificial Intelligence can accelerate output.
But it cannot accelerate identity.
And eventually, identity determines income.
AI Gives You Access. It Does Not Give You Authority.
We have access to information like never before.
Prompt it.
Generate it.
Automate it.
Launch it.
Courses.
Funnels.
Frameworks.
Certifications.
Access.
But access is not embodiment.
You can sit in a five-figure program and never transform.
You can join a mastermind and never mature.
You can build beautiful systems and still be brittle underneath.
I remember signing up for a five-figure course believing the coach was going to change my life.
I thought proximity meant transfer.
At some point, that coach told me:
“Fred, I’m not responsible for your legacy.”
I was angry.
For years.
Until I realized something that reshaped me.
He was right.
He wasn’t responsible.
I was.
That sentence hurt.
But it healed.
Let’s Talk About Real Pain
I’ve woken up and checked my bank account and it was red.
Red.
Not symbolic.
Real.
I’ve registered for mastermind programs not knowing how the mortgage would be paid.
I’ve boarded airplanes headed to conferences carrying vision in my heart and uncertainty in my pocket.
Those are the parts we don’t post.
The sleepless nights.
The quiet fear.
The internal interrogation:
“Did I miscalculate?”
“Am I irresponsible?”
“Am I called… or am I crazy?”
Entrepreneurship is not a period.
It’s a comma.
You don’t arrive.
You become.
The Lie AI Is Amplifying
In the age of AI, success has been placed on steroids.
Technology can produce in seconds what once took months.
Training can be generated instantly.
Systems can be built overnight.
But here’s the uncomfortable question:
Have you become the training?
Have you become the technique?
Have you become the technology?
Because if you haven’t embodied it, eventually the gap will show.
We are trying to sell systems we have not yet lived.
We are marketing transformation we have not yet undergone.
We are automating outcomes we have not yet mastered.
I’m not saying that to accuse.
I’m saying it to protect you.
The internet rewards speed.
Life rewards substance.
My Prison Story
There was a season when my business looked strong.
Revenue was coming in.
Visibility was increasing.
The brand was expanding.
But I was blind.
“I don’t do numbers,” I would say.
I had bookkeepers.
I had reports.
I had statements.
But I wasn’t reading them.
I was performing CEO.
I was not becoming CEO.
Then someone asked me a simple question:
“What are your numbers?”
Silence.
Not because I lacked intelligence.
Because I had avoided ownership.
Then came the IRS audit.
Nothing humbles you like paperwork you can’t explain.
Nothing sobers you like realizing you built something that moves… but you don’t understand how it moves.
I had built a business that functioned around me.
But I was a prisoner inside it.
That was the pain.
And the pain forced a decision.
I would either keep performing.
Or I would become.
So I learned.
KPIs.
Margins.
Subscriptions.
P&L statements.
Budgets.
Annual summaries.
Not because I loved spreadsheets.
Because I loved freedom.
I’m Not Above You. I’m Beside You.
Many of you have watched me in real time inside this group.
You’ve seen the evolution.
Dr. Fred.
Dr. Fred Jones, Esq.
Fred Jones.
If I’m honest, I’ve wrestled with those titles.
For years.
Because titles can feel like oxygen.
They provide structure.
Recognition.
Significance.
But I had to confront something hard:
A title does not transfer transformation.
You can be called “doctor” and still avoid discipline.
You can be called “attorney” and still not understand your business.
You can be called “coach” and still not embody the work.
At some point I realized I was leaning on titles to supply meaning.
Instead of allowing the process to shape me into the man the title required.
That was humbling.
I had to become the entrepreneur.
Not just speak about entrepreneurship.
I had to become the coach.
Not just teach principles.
I had to become the consultant.
Not just consult.
Because you cannot transfer what you have not transformed into.
You can impress people with language.
But you impact them with embodiment.
So if you’ve seen me refining positioning…
If you’ve seen me adjusting language…
If you’ve seen me shedding and rebuilding…
That is not confusion.
That is becoming.
And I am still in it.
Artificial Intelligence vs Authentic Intelligence
Let’s make this plain.
There are two AIs in this room.
Artificial Intelligence.
And Authentic Intelligence.
Artificial Intelligence is powerful.
It can draft your content.
Build your funnel.
Outline your course.
Automate your follow-up.
Generate ideas at scale.
But let’s not romanticize it.
It is artificial.
It does not bleed.
It does not wrestle.
It does not doubt.
It does not wake up at 3 a.m. wondering how payroll will clear.
It does not carry responsibility.
It does not grow through obedience.
It does not mature through pressure.
It produces.
But it does not become.
Authentic Intelligence is different.
Authentic Intelligence is access to transformation through alignment.
In the coaching and consulting world, Authentic Intelligence is proximity.
It is attachment.
It is access to information that comes from walking closely with someone who has lived it.
Not downloaded it.
Lived it.
When you attach yourself to a coach and stay close enough to observe how they think, decide, endure, recover — that is Authentic Intelligence.
That is access through alignment.
That is the highest level of value you offer as a consultant.
Not content.
Access.
Not slides.
Formation.
Not information.
Impartation.
Artificial Intelligence can help you build assets.
Authentic Intelligence allows you to reproduce yourself in the lives of others.
And reproduction is the true mark of mastery.
The Four Stages Between Artificial and Authentic
When you first encounter Artificial Intelligence, you feel exhilaration.
It’s fast.
It’s impressive.
It feels like leverage.
Then comes frustration.
Why isn’t it converting?
Why doesn’t it feel aligned?
Why isn’t this working the way I imagined?
Then exploration.
New tools.
New prompts.
New rooms.
New tactics.
Then determination.
And here is the fork.
At determination, you either:
Quit and blame the tools.
Or recommit and become the person who can wield the tools.
Exhilaration.
Frustration.
Exploration.
Determination.
That cycle is not about technology.
It’s about identity.
Artificial Intelligence gives you output.
Authentic Intelligence shapes your outcome.
And the ultimate AI — the one that sustains legacy — is Access and Information through relationship.
Alignment.
Attachment.
Accountability.
That is what multiplies.
That is what transfers.
That is what lasts.
The Squeeze
If you feel squeezed right now…
Good.
Squeeze reveals.
When pressure hits, what comes out?
Excuses?
Blame?
Comparison?
Avoidance?
Or ownership?
Becoming requires you to press.
Press the promise.
Press through the pain.
Press into personal responsibility.
And stay attached to people who stretch you.
You do not become in isolation.
You become in proximity.
The Close
So let’s bring this home.
AI will magnify whatever you are.
If you are shallow, it will expose you.
If you are disciplined, it will multiply you.
Artificial Intelligence can build your systems.
Authentic Intelligence builds you.
Artificial Intelligence can generate your content.
Authentic Intelligence generates conviction.
Artificial Intelligence can scale your visibility.
Authentic Intelligence sustains your legacy.
The question is not:
“What can AI do for me?”
The question is:
“Which AI am I becoming aligned with?”
Are you chasing Artificial Intelligence?
Or cultivating Authentic Intelligence?
Are you selling transformation?
Or embodying it?
Are you building faster?
Or becoming deeper?
Power Circle family —
Entrepreneurship is not a period.
It is a comma.
You are not arriving.
You are becoming.
So where are you on that journey?
Exhilarated?
Frustrated?
Exploring?
Determined?
Because the future will not belong to the fastest.
It will belong to those who become what they build.
Are you in the business of hype?
Or are you in the business of becoming?
Let’s go!
