Formed in Wichita in 1951 by the late Robert Martin and Kenneth Pringle, the firm has always had a strong practice in products liability law and oil and gas law. From that foundation, the firm has grown to 43 lawyers with expertise in a wide range of lit

igation and transactional practices. The information on this page does not constitute legal advice and does not create any attorney-client relationship between you and Martin Pringle. We will gladly discuss the possibility of representing you, but we must request that you first contact us so that we can ensure that any potential representation meets our internal requirements and to fulfill our important ethical obligation to check for conflicts of interest with our existing clients. Martin Pringle performs legal services for a diverse group of clients, with business clients ranging from large publicly traded companies to sole proprietorships, as well as individuals with varied legal needs. Our primary objective is to deliver nothing less than the highest quality work product. We recognize that legal services should be cost-effective and focused on the client's objectives, whether the business goals of a company, or the financial or personal goals of an individual. We serve as dedicated advocates of our clients' positions, and exhibit integrity and professionalism in our dealings with our clients, the courts, our adversaries, and others with whom we do business. We believe a law partnership should be more than just a set of technical skills. We are a compatible group of people, working together to provide the legal resources clients need, all at the highest standards of excellence and at reasonable cost. For more than 50 years, a wide variety of businesses and individuals have found Martin, Pringle, Oliver, Wallace & Bauer, L.L.P. to offer not only the expertise but also the people, values, and style of operation that gives them comfort and confidence. Martin Pringle is AV® Peer Review Rated. THE ABILITY TO HANDLE THE MOST COMPLEX MATTERS
Because Martin Pringle combines specialization with a broad general practice, we have ample resources to handle matters involving both concentrated expertise and an extensive variety of legal knowledge. The firm does not have rigidly defined practice areas. The division of work within the firm is designed to provide flexible, highly competent and cost-effective representation for clients, and allows the lawyers to retain control over the nature of their practices. Associates and legal assistants are used whenever appropriate to keep legal expenses as economical as possible. A COMMITMENT TO CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS
Martin Pringle measures its success not only by the firm’s own longevity but by that of its client relationships. It is not unusual for clients to stay with us for decades; often a relationship that begins in one specialty practice grows into others, where we provide the same high quality, cost-effective services. Between specific matters, we take a continuing interest in our clients' affairs, keeping them abreast of developments that we feel affect their interests. Whether providing counsel in one area or across a wide range, over time we build their trust.

Shakespeare asked "What's in a name?" Continuing our anniversary celebration timeline: Our firm saw several name changes in the 1960s. In 1967, Collins Hughes Martin Pringle & Schell became Collins Martin Pringle Schell & Burns. And then a year later in 1968, the firm merged with Wallace Porter & Fair and became Martin Porter Pringle Schell & Fair. The reconstituted group continued to office at 125 N. Market in the then-Vickers Tower.

Keeping up with cutting edge legal technology isn't unique to the 21st century! In April 1954, Kenneth Pringle Sr. and Kenneth Pringle Jr. were involved in a Sedgwick County trial in which color photos were admitted into evidence for the very first time. And it was notable enough to make the newspaper.

Did you know? In 1958, our founder Bob Martin co-chaired a bipartisan speakers bureau that traveled across Sedgwick County educating voters about a proposed constitutional amendment to reform how Kansas Supreme Court justices are selected. The measure passed, creating the merit selection system Kansas still uses today. This week, voters will decide whether to undo those very reforms, making the conversation Mr. Martin helped lead in 1958 just as important in 2026 as it was then.

Continuing our 75th Anniversary celebration today with a look back to 1963. A new associate joined the firm that year, one who would have generational impact on Martin Pringle. Bill Oliver was hired in June 1963 out of the University of Oklahoma School of Law and, over the next 55 years, would become one of the finest aviation attorneys in the world. His name was added to the firm's in 1979 and he retired in 2018. And in 2019, we christened our rooftop event space in Wichita, the William L. Oliver Jr. Flight Deck. Bill passed in 2022 but his legacy at Martin Pringle endures.

Have you seen our new neighbor? Check out the beautiful new Keeper statue in Naftzger Park, just steps away from our downtown Wichita office.
❤️🤍💙

Wichita’s 90th Keeper on Parade has found its home in Naftzger Park.

Inspired by the iconic Keeper of the Plains, a 44-foot-tall steel sculpture that honors the region’s Indigenous heritage, the Keepers on Parade feature colorful artist-designed interpretations of the Wichita landmark placed throughout the city.

This Keeper, commissioned by The Good Life in Wichita by the Wichita Wagonmasters, is titled “Keeper of the Good Life.”

It celebrates what makes Wichita so special, a community where the good life is something we experience every day. ❤️ 🌻

Continuing our 75th anniversary celebration with another look back at our history.

In 1964, the firm—then known as Collins Hughes Martin Pringle & Schell—moved to the 14th floor of the brand-new Wichita Plaza Building at 125 N. Market. Over the years, the building has also been known as Vickers Tower, the KSB&T Building, and SCTelcom.

From one milestone to the next, we're proud to celebrate 75 years of serving our clients and community.
