Budget Myth: A budget means you can't have fun.
One of the biggest misconceptions about budgeting is that once you make a budget, all the fun has to disappear.
No eating out.
No vacations.
No hobbies.
No coffee runs.
No spending just because you want something.
That's not how I look at budgeting.
A budget isn't about saying "no" to everything. It's about deciding what you want your money to do.
If eating out with friends is important to you, make room for it.
If you love traveling, create a travel fund.
If your morning coffee makes you happy, you don't necessarily need to give it up.
The goal is to be intentional. When you know where your money is going, you can enjoy spending on the things that matter to you without sacrificing the goals you're working toward.
And that's something I focus on in financial coaching. I'm not here to hand you a list of everything you need to stop spending money on. We look at your income, your priorities, and your goals and create a plan that works for your life.
Because a budget you hate probably isn't a budget you're going to stick with.
