💰 Money Monday

Budget Myth: A budget means you can't have fun.

One of the biggest misconceptions about budgeting is that once you make a budget, all the fun has to disappear.

No eating out.
No vacations.
No hobbies.
No coffee runs.
No spending just because you want something.

That's not how I look at budgeting.

A budget isn't about saying "no" to everything. It's about deciding what you want your money to do.

If eating out with friends is important to you, make room for it.

If you love traveling, create a travel fund.

If your morning coffee makes you happy, you don't necessarily need to give it up.

The goal is to be intentional. When you know where your money is going, you can enjoy spending on the things that matter to you without sacrificing the goals you're working toward.

And that's something I focus on in financial coaching. I'm not here to hand you a list of everything you need to stop spending money on. We look at your income, your priorities, and your goals and create a plan that works for your life.

Because a budget you hate probably isn't a budget you're going to stick with.

💬 What's one "fun" expense you'd always want to make room for in your budget?

❤️ Facebook — Reflection Sunday

A coworker asked me something this week that made me stop and think:

“How do you do it all?”

A full-time job. Running a business. Being a wife and mom. Appointments, errands, the house, family activities—and somewhere in there, finding time for myself.

The answer is...I don't do it all.

At least not all at once.

As I look ahead to another busy week, I know there will be things that don't get done. There will be plans that change and tasks that move to another day.

What helps me is being intentional about where my time goes.

I look at what's coming, decide what needs my attention, and make space for the things that matter most. Some weeks that means more time for my business. Other weeks, family needs more of me. And sometimes, I need to make sure I'm giving some of that time to myself.

Planning doesn't make my weeks perfect. It just helps me go into them with a little more purpose—and a lot less stress.

So as I sit here with my coffee and look ahead to this week, I'm not asking myself:

“How am I going to do it all?”

I'm asking:

“What matters most this week?”

💬 What's one thing you're making time for this week?

📂 Organization Thursday

One of the best habits we developed over the years was creating a simple after-school routine.

Instead of tossing the backpack in the corner and hoping nothing important got buried inside, we'd spend just a few minutes together:

🎒 Empty the backpack

📄 Look through papers and handouts

✍️ Sign any forms

📅 Add important dates to the calendar

📚 Review homework and upcoming assignments

I learned this the hard way. There were times when my son would leave papers tucked away in his backpack, and I'd discover a permission slip or flyer long after it was due.

Taking just five minutes each afternoon helped us avoid last-minute surprises and made our evenings feel much less stressful.

As he starts high school this week, our routine will probably look a little different—but the idea is still the same: a little organization today can prevent a lot of stress tomorrow.

💬 What's one after-school habit that helps keep your family organized?

💙 Behind the Business Wednesday 💙

Every business starts somewhere, and this week marked a milestone I'll always remember.

I completed my very first mobile notary appointment and received my very first Google review.

🖋️ Notary Tip Tuesday

As the new school year begins, you may come across forms that require a notarized signature. While most school paperwork doesn't need notarization, some documents may, depending on the school, district, or organization requesting them.

Examples include:

📄 Proof of residency affidavits

👨‍👩‍👧 Guardianship or custody documents

🏠 Homeschool declarations (where required)

🏥 Medical consent or emergency treatment authorization forms

🚌 Special permissions, waivers, or travel authorization forms

If your form requires notarization:

✔️ Read the instructions carefully.

✔️ Bring a valid, unexpired photo ID.

✔️ Wait to sign until you're with your notary, unless the instructions specifically say otherwise.

Not sure if your document needs notarization? Feel free to reach out before your appointment—I'm always happy to help point you in the right direction.

💬 Have you ever had a school-related form that needed to be notarized?

💰 Money Monday

Back-to-school shopping can get expensive fast. Between school supplies, clothes, activity fees, lunches, and technology, it's easy to spend more than you planned.

Before heading to the store, try these simple budgeting tips:

✔️ Check what you already have.
✔️ Set a spending limit before you shop.
✔️ Prioritize needs before wants.
✔️ Spread out larger purchases if possible.

A little planning now can reduce financial stress and help your family start the school year on the right foot.

💬 What's one back-to-school expense that always seems to surprise you?

❤️ Reflection Sunday

This Sunday feels a little different.

Looking at a new school laptop, fresh supplies, and a planner reminds me just how quickly time passes. It seems like yesterday we were getting ready for elementary school, and now we're preparing for the first day of high school.

The next four years will bring new experiences, challenges, opportunities, and memories—for both of us.

As routines change, one thing I hope stays the same is taking time each week to pause, prepare, and be intentional about the week ahead.

Whether it's organizing schedules, planning meals, budgeting for expenses, or simply making time to check in as a family, a little preparation goes a long way.

No matter what season of life we're in, I've learned that a little planning and preparation can make big transitions feel a little less overwhelming.

Here's to new beginnings, exciting opportunities, and a wonderful school year.

💬 If your kids are heading back to school this week or next, what's one thing you're most looking forward to—or maybe a little nervous about?

📖 Welcome to Blog Saturday!

Every Saturday, I share ideas that help reduce stress by getting more organized—whether that's with your finances, your time, or the systems that keep life moving.

This week's blog is about something that has made a huge difference in my life: being intentional with my time through time blocking.

A few years ago, I constantly felt like I was behind. Work, home, family, and my business all seemed to compete for my attention. Learning to intentionally plan my week helped me stop reacting to my schedule and start focusing on what mattered most.

If you've ever felt like there just aren't enough hours in the day, I hope this week's blog encourages you to give time blocking a try.

❓ FAQ Friday

Can you come to my home to notarize documents?

Absolutely!

One of the biggest advantages of using a mobile notary is that I come to you. Whether you're at home, your office, a hospital, an assisted living facility, or another convenient location, I bring the notary service to you.

Mobile notary services can be especially helpful if:
✔️ You have a busy schedule.
✔️ You're caring for a loved one.
✔️ Traveling is difficult.
✔️ You simply prefer the convenience of meeting where you are.

My goal is to make the notarization process as convenient and stress-free as possible.

Need a mobile notary? Feel free to reach out—I'd be happy to help!

📸 Behind the Business

Before every coaching session, I take a few minutes to make sure I have everything I need.

My laptop, planner, notebook, coaching materials, and a few other essentials all come with me so we can spend our time focused on what matters most—your goals.

Every client is different, and every session is tailored to their needs, but one thing stays the same: showing up prepared.

It's one of the ways I help create a productive, comfortable coaching experience from the very beginning.

💬 Are you someone who likes to be prepared ahead of time, or do you work best on the fly?
