"The formal segregation of housing finance imposed by 20th century redlining was officially withdrawn decades ago. Yet, the lines of those old redlining maps remain etched into the landscape of many American cities. Read more about a new research study from NCRC and the University of Michigan that examines 30 years of mortgage lending data using a newly released national home mortgage dataset (the HLD) that shows the impacts of historic redlining on homeownership rates today." - NCRC https://hubs.ly/Q03XHWhn0

🏡 Protecting your home’s value is always worth keeping in mind—but that doesn’t mean you can’t make it your own.

Personal touches help a house feel like home. The key is understanding which changes enhance long-term value and which ones could impact resale later. Thoughtful decisions today can help preserve equity tomorrow.

Balance enjoyment with strategy—and you get the best of both worlds.

As the holiday season approaches, it’s important to be mindful of your credit. 🧱🔑

Creating a budget, tracking spending, and keeping balances manageable can help protect your credit score—something that plays a major role in buying a home, financing a car, or securing housing.

Strong credit isn’t about perfection—it’s about consistency.

☀️🏠 If homeownership is part of your long-term goals, starting the conversation sooner rather than later can make a real difference.

Homes tend to appreciate over time. The earlier you purchase, the earlier you begin building equity that can support future moves, upgrades, or investments.

You don’t need to have everything figured out—just a plan.

Buying on your own doesn’t mean buying without support—and it doesn’t mean settling. 💚💗

Solo buyers can build wealth, stability, and security through homeownership with the right information and preparation. There’s room for everyone in real estate, and your path doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.

Your goals are valid. Your timeline matters.

This perspective resonates — and we agree. ❤️ 🖤

For many families, the only inheritance is a home and a retirement account. Those assets are often passed down after a parent’s lifetime, meaning support arrives when children are already in their 50s or 60s.

But the years that determine financial stability — and homeownership access — are the 20s through 40s:

-student loan debt
-first-time home purchases
-rising rents and down payments
-childcare and family formation
-entrepreneurship and income growth
-Support during these years can be life-changing.

This conversation isn’t about having millions. It’s about rethinking legacy:

-helping with a down payment
-allowing adult children to live at home longer
-co-buying or co-investing in property
-transferring property strategically
-teaching financial literacy early

Passing wealth while you’re alive — without compromising your own security — can help families build equity sooner and avoid generational delays in homeownership.

Legacy shouldn’t start at the funeral. It should show up when futures are being built. — Black Homeownership Matters
