If you need a reminder of the goodness of people, I got you 💛.

My brother, Azeem, represents a woman who had a racial slur printed on her oil change sticker by a car dealership in Milwaukee. When Ramzey Rizk heard her story, he sent her a brand new car from his own dealership, Family Nissan in New York.

It’s an electric vehicle, so no need to ever go back for an oil change. 💁🏽‍♀️

Makayla Starks said she is still in disbelief that her traumatic experience early last month has now led to a wonderful, unexpected gift.

I continue to be proud of Azeem’s civil rights work in Milwaukee. “[P]eople who are there to protect and serve us are also required to do so in a safe way.”

Video obtained by TMJ4 shows a high-speed Milwaukee police chase that ended with a squad running over a man. He survived and his civil lawsuit against the city is scheduled to go to trial next month.

I shared my thoughts on ACLU of the District of Columbia's latest stop-and-frisk data analysis with DC News Now. “Unlike other major cities, D.C. has ignored calls for change since 2020. We see the same state and community violence persisting as a result...We urge the development of a public safety framework that is not only just and equitable but also strengthens the very fabric of our community.”

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — In D.C., when police stop a person the vast majority of the time it’ll be a person of color, a report showed. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of D.C…

This article from Tycely Williams gave me ALL the feels. I've never met a leader like her. A few minutes with Tycely makes you believe you can conquer *anything* and reading this essay will, too. A beautiful living and written tribute to South Carolina. This is what everyone should read for !

(Of course, it's super, extra, especially special for me and DC Justice Lab to be mentioned here, along with my grandpa. Thank you, Tycely! 💕)

I continue to be proud of the work my brother is doing in Milwaukee. These tragedies are avoidable. Dvontaye Mitchell should still be here.

Attorneys are now calling on the Milwaukee County District Attorney's office to press charges against the four security guards involved in an incident outside the Hyatt Regency downtown.
