NONPARTISAN PROMOTION OF THE RULE OF LAW
EARLA’s work is nonpartisan and does not serve the interests of a particular party, organization, or individual. Rather, EARLA’s work focuses on supporting post-revolution reforms of Egypt’s laws and procedures. These reforms are based on international principles of law, which emphasize that: (i) government officials are accountable under the law; (ii) the

laws are clear, publicized, stable, and fair, and protect fundamental rights, including the security of persons and property; (iii) the process by which the laws are enacted and enforced is accessible, fair, and efficient; and (iv) access to justice is provided by competent, independent, and ethical adjudicators, attorneys, and judicial officers, who are of sufficient number, have adequate resources, and reflect the makeup of the communities they serve. SUPPORTING OUR EGYPTIAN PARTNERS
EARLA’s objectives and strategy are developed in close collaboration with EARLA’s local partners in Egypt. In particular, EARLA's rule of law development model includes:
· Developing a strategic plan with our Egyptian partners to identify specific laws and mechanisms that require reform;
· Preparing comparative analysis of legal models from around the world;
· Assisting our Egyptian partners with the drafting of laws that are based on universal standards, but are technically suitable for Egypt;
· Supporting our Egyptian partners’ legal campaigns through public education, public policy panels, symposia, and media outreach;
· Providing practical training to rule of law advocates in Egypt in accordance with the needs of our Egyptian partners; and
· Holding roundtable discussions for members of EARLA and the stakeholders in Egypt to allow for dialogue on the issues critical to the process of legal reform in Egypt. BOARD OF DIRECTORS
