Stay a step ahead of scammers. Banks will never call and ask you to pay fees to receive your debit or credit card in the mail. Even if the call or text looks like it's from a bank, it's not.

Below you will see a new FaceBook scam. You get an official looking email, supposedly from FB saying that your password was reset. If you click on "From here" as directed, your information goes to some unknown website. If you receive this email, you can go to your FB, logoff, then log on again with your password. If everything works normally, you now know for sure that someone, possibly and ID thief, is attempting to get your info.

What does an Identity thief look like? An Identity thief will post a picture of an attractive person sending a friend request. To protect yourself, scroll down their timeline. If there are just a few pictures and just a few entries, then it's not a real person. It's a fake! The person or group who sent this to you either wants to gain access to your FB friends to send ads to or they have worse intentions such as getting as much private info from you as possible. This is one time that you don't want to click. "confirm"!
