“'Unfortunately, the Trump Administration is systematically dismantling due process protections in U.S. immigration courts, prioritizing speed and enforcement over fairness, accuracy, and fundamental justice,' AILA wrote in a policy brief last fall."

"Every day, I hear from accomplished immigrants all over the U.S. who came here legally, followed all the rules of our byzantine system, and now are prevented from moving forward in their lives and careers. Not surprisingly, most are seriously considering taking their talents to another country." - Ava Benach

The Trump administration has repeatedly boasted it is arresting and deporting “the worst of the worst,” and that its draconian immigration policies are ridding our country of violent criminals. In truth, the majority of people held in ICE detention have no prior criminal record and Trump’s i...

"The policy has drawn widespread rejection and condemnation by federal courts across the country. A POLITICO analysis has found 425 fed'l district court judges who have rejected the Trump admin’s position, compared to 49 who have sided with [them]"

The ruling exacerbates a division among courts that could supercharge the issue’s path to the Supreme Court.

"The Department of Homeland Security confirmed Tuesday that it has shut down an office dedicated to exposing misconduct at immigration detention facilities."

The department blamed Congress for the closure, arguing that the recently passed DHS funding bill caused the office to shut down.
