In the financial world, a current trendy buzzword is for advisors to be operating on a fiduciary standard for their clients. This is a fancy way of saying acting in their best interest. This is a powerful way to convey the expectation of service, but it is not just limited to the business world. Jesus taught everyone who wanted to follow his way of life to do this same thing but with everybody that they encounter. This is the simplest life hack to building genuine and enduring relationships.

You’ve heard of the love languages, but how about the Five Flames of Pain?

Everyone experiences pain, but it doesn't always burn the same way. Here are the 5 ways pain touches our lives, each a flame needing care and understanding:

1. Physical Flame (the body’s fire – injury, illness, chronic conditions)

2. Emotional Flame (the heart’s fire – grief, anxiety, depression)

3. Social Flame (the community’s fire – loneliness, broken relationships, isolation)

4. Spiritual Flame (the soul’s fire – crisis of faith, existential questions, loss of identity)

5. Vocational Flame (the purpose’s fire – burnout, job loss, financial stress)

Understanding which flame is burning strongest helps us communicate clearly, heal deeply, and connect compassionately with each other. This ultimately helps us rise above it and find joy through it.

Which flame do you feel burning strongest in your life right now?

The Power of Compounding—In Relationships

We all know how compound interest grows wealth over time, but did you know trust compounds the same way? Every small act of integrity, kindness, and consistency in your relationships is like making a deposit that builds exponential value over time.

A study from Harvard University’s Grant Study, one of the longest-running research projects on happiness and success, found that strong relationships are the greatest predictor of long-term well-being, success, and even financial stability—more than IQ, social class, or genetics. Relationships truly are the most valuable asset we can invest in.

Jesus emphasized this truth:
"If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth (money), who will entrust to you the true riches? (Relationships!)" — Luke 16:11

And Proverbs reminds us:
"Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm." — Proverbs 13:20

The longer you invest in people with love and faith, the richer your life becomes. Want to build true wealth? Invest in your relationships.

Jesus told us to have childlike faith—not childish, but open, curious, and full of wonder. A NASA study found that 98% of five-year-olds scored at a genius level for creativity. By adulthood? Only 2%. We don’t lose creativity—we unlearn it through fear, routine, and rigid thinking.

But creativity isn’t just for artists. It’s essential for building deep relationships, leading with wisdom, and creating true wealth—not just financial, but the kind that overflows in love, joy, and peace.

Approach your relationships with fresh eyes. Listen deeply. Imagine new ways to serve, love, and connect. The most meaningful bonds—and the greatest impact—come when we think beyond limitations and see life with the wonder of a child.

Where can you bring creativity into your relationships today?

Success is not just about what you earn, it is about what you build, protect, and pass on to others.

Trusts are a very important tool in estate planning but most people are not very familiar with them.

I like to explain it in this way - a Trust is essentially a customizable contract that you make with yourself that can manage your assets after you pass away.

This is beneficial in several different ways, here are few:
1. Helps save your loved ones from the headaches of probate court.

2. Allows for more flexibility and an extended timeline for distributing your assets. (Instead of an 18 year old getting a big lump sum you can send it to them over a course of several years)

3. Can provide creditor protection for your beneficiaries if they leave it in Trust so that the assets are not accessible in a debt collection proceeding or divorce.

4. Helps keep a treasured family home/property in the family instead of being divided up and sold if siblings can't agree.

If this sounds interesting to you, I would love to have a conversation with you about whether a trust can help you achieve your estate planning goals.

When I was 17 years old, I had a severe medical injury that required a lot of big time medical decisions that I was not conscious enough to make myself. Since I was still a minor, my parents had the legal authority to make those decisions. If I had been 18, since I did not have a Healthcare power of attorney, nobody would have had that legal authority.

This is why all people age 18 and older should have a healthcare power of attorney document executed. This is one of the four documents that everyone should have.

If you do not have one in place and would like to change that, please contact me.
