⚠️Extension Filing Policy⚠️

We understand that sometimes more time is needed to gather documents or finalize your return. Cardenas Tax Service is here to help you stay compliant with the IRS by offering extension filing services.

Extension Filing Fee:
• $25 flat rate to file a federal extension (Form 4868)

• State extensions may be included if required — additional fees may apply depending on the state.

Deadline to Request an Extension:
To ensure timely filing, all extension requests must be received by April 15th.

Credit Toward Full Return:

If you choose to file your full return with Cardenas Tax Service, the extension fee will be credited toward your final tax prep bill.

Important Reminder:

An extension only extends the time to file, not to pay. Any taxes owed must still be paid by the original due date to avoid penalties and interest.

‼️‼️ Let's clear a few things ‼️‼️

If you're unable to file your taxes by the April 15 deadline, applying for a tax extension is an option. Most people only need an extension if they are missing tax documents.

✅It's important to clarify that a tax extension DOSEN'T postpone the deadline for paying what you OWE to the IRS. 🚨

✅Any taxes owed are still due by the deadline

✅though payment plans are available. You must request a tax extension by April 15th👈🏾The extension provides extra time to complete your return without incurring the late filing penaltie, which can amount to 5% of your unpaid taxes per month, up to 25%, according to the IRS.

✅If you need more time to file your taxes, you can request an extension by filing Form 4868.

✅If you are due a tax refund and haven't filed, you are ok and can still e-file your taxes all the way until October 15th, 2025

✅You also have three years to file your tax return if you are due a refund but not if you owe. I try my best to put things in simple terms because I know taxes may be complex for some.

✅ Extension Fee must be paid before I can submit to IRS
