🎓 Turning 18 is a major milestone, but many parents are surprised to learn how much changes legally once their child becomes an adult.

Even if they still live at home or remain on your insurance, you no longer automatically have access to their medical records or the ability to manage financial matters on their behalf.

For example, if your college-aged child ends up in the hospital, you may not be able to speak with doctors or make medical decisions without the proper documents in place. The same can apply if they need help managing a bank account or signing important paperwork.
