We had a custody divorce go to Temporary Hearing recently in Bell County and we were able to settle the case at the courthouse. That’s not unusual in this business for a variety of reasons but what happened after was out of the ordinary. The opposing party came up and shook my client’s hand and thanked them for working toward resolution for the kid’s best interest. I have been called “game as an old pit bull” before, but I think good lawyering means preserving a co-parenting relationship when it can be preserved and knowing when to go to the fight.

Today was a big day for our clients and their children in Bell County.

Our firm secured Primary Conservatorship in two separate cases — and more importantly, two sets of children now have the stability, structure, and protection they deserve.

These outcomes don’t happen by accident. They come from preparation, persistence, and a clear focus on what Texas law requires: the best interest of the child.

We are grateful for the opportunity to advocate fiercely and effectively for families when it matters most.

Tonight, two families can breathe a little easier. In the same way that it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a village to defend these cases. I couldn’t provide the level of attention to these cases that is required without my team. I’m forever in your debt.

Tonight our office had the privilege of advocating for a child in an emergency situation in Coryell County.

When a child’s safety is at risk, waiting until the next business day simply isn’t an option. Thanks to the quick response and professionalism of the 52nd District Court, County Attorney, county officials, the District Clerk’s office, and the Court Reporter, a hearing was able to take place after hours and through electronic means so the situation could be addressed immediately.

Because of that teamwork and willingness to act, a child was able to be placed into safety tonight.

We are grateful to serve communities where the courts and county officials are willing to move quickly when a child needs protection. Thank you to everyone in Coryell County who stepped in and made it possible for this child to be protected.

We are proud to share a recent victory for one of our clients.

After being wrongfully denied court-ordered possession of their child for nearly six months and failed efforts to reach an agreement on makeup time, our client stood firm and chose to ask the judge to enforce their rights. The Court agreed — and awarded significant makeup parenting time to restore what had been taken.

Court orders matter. Parenting time matters. And most importantly, children deserve consistency and meaningful time with both parents.

If you are being denied possession or access in violation of a court order, you do not have to accept it. Enforcement is not about punishment — it is about protecting the parent-child relationship.
