Random acts of kindness
-Today we give a big to Officer Sean Wyman. He responded to a call for service regarding a man with a young baby standing out in the cold for hours. Officer Wyman discovered the man, David, was a military veteran, husband, and father. Here is what Officer Wyman said about this particular call:
“I was dispatched to check on this man's welfare today. Upon my arrival, I discovered he had two daughters ages 2 and 3. He explained one had a rare blood disease who was sick at home with his wife. He shared with me how he lost his full time temp job and was now out here with his healthy daughter on the interstate exit panhandling for a way to feed his family tonight”.
Officer Wyman fed him and made sure the family was comfortable for the night. He sent a plea for further help to other officers, friends and local non profit groups. He asked for help for David to find a job so he could take care of his family sending this message to everyone:
“If you are in need of a hard worker in the Big Bend area or have access to food resources or know someone else that can help comment below.
David is not asking for money. His family needs food and he needs a job. He does not have a car but he can get around on the bus.”
Job offers and help poured in! Less than 24 hours later this update was provided by Officer Wyman:
“UPDATE: December 31, 2018
I wanted to take a minute to update everyone. First thank you to everyone for the unbelievable amount of love and support for this family.
In less than 24 hours this family has a house full of groceries, over 50 job opportunities that are being reviewed and considered, the electric bill is being paid off, and financial donations from all over the place to help support this family while they get back on their feet.
Thanks for answering the call! Together one human at a time! God bless you all!”
Thank you Officer Wyman! You are
