Last night I had the opportunity to team up with 412 Aerials and ChargingAtu to search for a missing beagle mix named Mogie in Central Pennsylvania.

Every time I head into this part of the state it’s an adventure. You don’t truly realize how much wilderness there is until you arrive on scene and the only lights visible are homes scattered across miles of hills and forest. When you’re searching for one small dog in all that terrain, it really does feel like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Thankfully we had experienced pilots, the right equipment, and a very recent sighting, which helped narrow the search area significantly.

And the good news… we located Mogie early in the search.

The bad news… Mogie apparently decided he wasn’t quite finished with his adventure yet and still had some deer he wanted to chase. 🦌

But the most important part of the night is this: we now know where he is. That information is huge when it comes to bringing a lost dog home. We’ve already started working on a game plan with the owners to safely recover him.

Searches like this remind you just how big rural Pennsylvania really is, but they also show what can happen when skilled pilots, technology, and teamwork come together for a common goal.
