Join the Edgecombe Community College Foundation for a day of golf, food, and fun. This tournament is the Foundation’s primary fundraiser and supports Foundation operations and student scholarships. Last year, we raised over $36,000. With your help, we can surpass that this year.

We look forward to you joining us! Your generous support will directly benefit ECC students by enabling them to further their education and acquire the skills necessary to compete in today’s demanding job market.

This year’s tournament will be a four-person scramble held on Thursday, September 24 at Maccripine Country Club in Pinetops, NC. Shotgun starts are available at 8:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m.

Edgecombe Community College directors Laura Brown Evans and Tameka Kenan-Norman have completed the 2025-26 Leadership Edgecombe Academy, a professional development program presented by the Tarboro Edgecombe Chamber of Commerce.

Evans, director of the Small Business Center, and Kenan-Norman, executive director of public information and institutional advancement, were among the inaugural class of local professionals who studied the business and industrial landscape of Edgecombe County. Participants also examined core principles of effective leadership.

The academy met monthly from September 2025 through June 2026 and was led by Teresa Barnhill, CEO and principal consultant of ATB Consulting, LLC. Class members read The Waymakers: Clearing the Path to Workplace Equity with Competence and Confidence and toured industries across manufacturing, government, education and healthcare. Insights from those visits informed a community-focused project the cohort will continue beyond the program.

The 2026-27 Leadership Edgecombe Academy begins Sept. 10 with a new class. For details, contact the Tarboro Edgecombe Chamber of Commerce at 252-823-7241.
