🌀 The first 2026 hurricane season forecast just dropped yesterday.
Colorado State is calling for a below-average season — 13 named storms, 6 hurricanes, 2 major. El Niño is expected to keep things quieter than the last few years.
That's good news. But here's the thing — it only takes one.
If you're buying or selling in Tampa Bay this year, here's what actually matters right now:
→ Review your homeowner's insurance BEFORE June 1. Premiums are still climbing and carriers are still pulling out of Florida. Don't wait until a storm is in the Gulf.
→ Sellers: get your roof inspection done now. A clean roof report is one of the biggest deal-savers in this market.
→ Buyers: ask about flood zone, wind mitigation credits, and what the current owner pays for insurance. That monthly number matters more than ever.
Hurricane season starts June 1. The time to prepare is right now — not when The Weather Channel starts naming storms.
Questions about how storm season affects your home's value or your next move? That's what I'm here for.
