Thereā€™s a version of real estate where the goal is simply to get the deal done. But thatā€™s never been the version Iā€™m interested in.

Sometimes protecting a client means saying the thing that slows everything down. It means pointing out the problem in the house they already love, pushing back on a price that doesnā€™t make sense, or being the person who says, ā€œI donā€™t think this is the right move,ā€ when everyone else is ready to keep going.

My job isnā€™t to protect the transaction. Itā€™s to protect the person making it.

And sometimes the most valuable thing I can do as your real estate agent is make sure you donā€™t look back six months later and wish someone had been more honest with you.

A lot of real estate advice in Tallahassee sounds true because thereā€™s usually a little truth buried in it.

Thatā€™s exactly why some of these misconceptions stick around.

An online estimate can be useful, but it isnā€™t the same thing as understanding what a home could actually sell for. An inspection can uncover a long list of issues without automatically meaning the house is a bad buy. And a list price might start the conversation, but thereā€™s a lot more strategy behind where that number lands and what happens from there.

Those little distinctions matter because real estate decisions rarely come down to one blanket rule.

Iā€™d much rather explain the context behind something than have you make a huge decision based on advice that only tells half the story.
