Motorcycle lessons from Sturgis continue. A humbling experience as from my desk, I am the go-to. Needed it yesterday - consider it done! Then on the bike, 30-minutes to make a suitable left turn!! Here is one of the better passes 🤣 … don’t the proficient riders make it look easy!!??! Until then, I’ll continue to live vicariously, salty, but with respect and admiration. Reporting from The Legendary City of Riders!

Lessons continue from the community center parking lot. A clip here from warm up rounds. Seems I favor right turns, and did pretty well shifting gears on the adjacent road, but the combination of entering the street, positioned into an immediate turn has been a struggle. Yes - turn your head, yes, turn the handlebars. I know, I know… but rebellion seems to set in. Ha! As a new rider things that are simple are not easy; being patient with myself the trait requiring continuous improvement. While I don’t yet look as cool as I feel, when viewing the backdrop of this location — rolling down Main Street at next years’ Rally keeps my spirits high. Reporting from The Legendary City of Riders, Sturgis!

Lesson 1 from a church parking lot! A test of balance and patience while muscle memory begins to develop. So far I’m not a natural 😉 but got into gear and avoided a precarious curb so I’ll call the session a success. Reporting from The Legendary City of Riders, Sturgis!

Big news for THP605 - we ARE now two horses on steel horses! I’m officially a new Harley Owner. ‘Ruby’ is an ‘07 Sportster Low who was meant to be mine just arriving to the dealership with yours truly having a ‘hot off the press’ learner’s permit in hand. Thank you to Tim, Garrett, Nate, Shawn, and Big Dawg along
with the entire staff of Rapid City Harley Davidson - Exit 55, for making my first bike purchase experience just how I imagined it would be.

Big news for THP605 - we will now be two horses on steel horses together! I’m officially a new lady rider with my motorcycle learner’s permit in hand. The goal is to share my journey, learning how to ride and wrench, from a female perspective. I hope to encourage others that have considered riding, but have yet to take the leap. … and where better to share my journey, but from The Legendary City of Riders, Sturgis!

In the Wild - Checking out the Full Throttle Saloon during the 86th, viewed the machines on offer by Nash Customs. No detail dismissed, down to the fin edge. Horse V-Dog had his eye on two! Great taste - we learned both had sold! Always something new to experience each and every Rally. You won’t want to miss the Nash Customs booth next year.
