At Yackel & Swick, we know it’s rarely the big things people remember. It’s the little details. Remembering your favorite candy. Celebrating your first home. Making a stressful transaction feel a little less stressful. Creating a closing experience that feels personal.

Anyone can get a transaction to the closing table. We believe the experience along the way matters, too.

Case and point: After years of watching Rita excavate our candy dish in search of popcorn Jelly Bellies, we finally gave in and started keeping a special stash just for her. 😂 It's a small thing, but that's kind of the point.

Whether it's a favorite candy, a first-time homebuyer, or a complicated transaction, we believe the little details matter.

And if our "closing beans" happen to grow a few extra closings along the way... well, who are we to argue with science? 😂🏡🫘

One of my favorite closing day traditions is getting my "closing beans" from Yackle & Swick. 🫘😂
For years, they've kept a candy dish full of Jelly Bellies at the closing table. My favorite has always been the popcorn flavor. Somewhere along the way, they started keeping a special stash of popcorn Jelly Bellies set aside just for me.
Now, I can't decide if that's because they're incredibly thoughtful... or because they got tired of watching me dig through every single jelly bean looking for the popcorn ones. 🤣
Either way, it's one of those little things that makes closing day special. Real estate is about contracts, deadlines, inspections, and signatures—but it's also about relationships and the people you get to do life with along the way.
And for the record, I'm still convinced that if you plant a popcorn Jelly Belly in my tummy, it'll grow another closing. 🌱🏡😂

🥂 Happy Birthday to our very own Closing Queen! 🥂🎉

If there were an Olympic sport for multitasking, she’d have a gold medal. She can clear title issues, calm nervous buyers, answer 47 emails, plan a networking event, and come up with three new marketing ideas—all before most people finish their first cup of coffee.

And because she’s a Gemini, there’s never just one version of the day. You might get Attorney Braylee, Marketing Braylee, Event Planner Braylee, Interior Designer Braylee, Baseball Mom Braylee, or CEO Braylee... sometimes all before lunch.

Here’s to another year of big goals, bigger ideas, smooth closings, and bringing that signature Gemini energy everywhere she goes. Happy Birthday, Queen! 👑🏡✨🎂

We officially kicked off our Sail Into Summer series last week and it could not have been a better evening. 🌅⚓️

There’s just something about taking a break from the office, getting out on the water, and spending time with such a great group of real estate professionals along the South Georgia coast. Good conversations, coastal views, lots of laughs, and a reminder that some of the best partnerships are built outside the closing room.

Wire fraud is real, it’s local, and it’s getting more sophisticated every day. ⚠️

Whether you're a REALTOR®, lender, buyer, seller, or closing attorney, we all play a role in protecting our transactions and our clients. Always verify wiring instructions by calling a trusted number before sending funds — even if the email looks legitimate. Use an independent source, like Google, to verify the number. Do NOT rely on a number in the email chain or on the wire instructions.

Stay alert, stay cautious, and when in doubt… pick up the phone. 📞 We’re all in this together.

Last weekend, a few from our team swapped the closing table for cowbells, water stations, and cheering on absolute machines at Jacksonville’s first Ironman — and we had the best time doing it.

We loved jumping in on the fun with the crew and so many other willing volunteers. There’s something really special about coming together outside of work, supporting our community, making memories, and having a little fun along the way.

Watching these athletes chase massive goals with so much grit and determination was incredibly inspiring. That drive to keep pushing, keep improving, and encourage the people around you to do the same is something we believe in wholeheartedly — both in and out of the office.

Safe to say our team left inspired… and maybe slightly convinced Kevin is signing up for another one. 😉🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️

Wire Fraud Is Real — Stay Vigilant 🚨

As closings become more digital, fraudsters are getting more creative. A few extra minutes of caution can save you or your client from a devastating mistake.

A few important reminders before sending funds:

• Consider changing your email password at the start of a transaction to help protect your account privacy and security.

• Always verify wire instructions by calling your closing attorney’s office using a trusted source — not the phone number listed in the email. (Google the office number yourself or refer to your purchase agreement.)

• Double check the sender’s email address carefully for subtle changes or misspellings (generally they are subtle, such as swapping two letters).

• Attorneys and title companies generally do not use Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, or other free email accounts for closing communications — that should be an immediate red flag.

• Be cautious of requests to send funds through Cash App, Venmo, Zelle, cryptocurrency, or other unusual payment methods.

• Pay close attention if wiring instructions suddenly change from what was previously provided for earnest money or earlier wires.

If something feels off, pause and verify before sending funds. A legitimate office would rather answer 10 extra phone calls than see a client become a victim of fraud.

Be cautious. Be skeptical. Be vigilant. 🔒
