Today my partners and I hit a HUGE MILESTONE. But to give you the full context I need to step back a couple of years.
In 2019 I started a FB group that little did I know would change my life. The networking and deals I have received through it, have helped me explode my Real Estate goals and dreams. In late December 2020, someone called me and wanted to give me office space at his company if I would run my Facebook group out of his office. I ended up getting a job from him a month later. Five months later I was full-time with his company, and 2 months later I was running the day-to-day operations of his company. Unfortunately, he fired me in May of 2022. However, what I learned in those 18 months I still use today, and I still own 10 rentals with him. But what does all that have to do with today?
Just 6 months later, in late December of 2022, Joe Colvin asked me if I would want to partner in Real Estate. At first, we were talking about flipping houses, but soon we set a crazy goal of buying 100 rental properties. We didn't realize we would buy 52 in our first year doing business together. In December of 2023, Joe and I decided that we wanted another partner, someone who could bring to the table what we were missing, enter Grant Hellwarth. I don't know if Grant knew what he was signing up for that day when he said he yes, because within 3 weeks he was now the proud owner of 9 houses. Fast forward to today, and Joe, Grant, and I just closed on door number 40 in our first 9 months of being partners. When you include the flip properties that Joe and I bought this year, and the purchases we had last year, Joe and I closed on door number 100 today, in just 21 months (we have sold off around 25 houses).
I am so thankful for the partnerships I have, there is no way I could do what I am doing today without them. I have learned so much, and gotten so much better at what I do, and it's more than I ever could have imagined. So many of my friends in real estate have made me who I am today, and I couldn't have done it without them. Joe and I have set a new goal of 200 rentals within the next several years, Grant seems to be enjoying the ride and thinks that is a pretty fantastic goal as well.
Not only that but Joe and I have also completed 40 rehabs during the same time frame. We have been able to completely transform homes that in some cases were condemned and on the city's demo list. Don't get me wrong, we aren't doing it ourselves, we also have a fantastic team!
I don't know when we will hit our 200th purchase or our 200th rental, but I can tell you this, I won't be doing it on my own. There will be friends, partners, family, and so many contractors or small businesses who help us get there along the way.
