I've received a lot of calls and emails lately from people who believe that their cell phones are being monitored or tracked by their spouse, their ex, or their employer. The problem is more common than you might think.
There are literally thousands of spying and tracking apps out there. They can capture your texts, your photos, your current location, listen to your calls live-time, and even hear what's being said when you aren't on the phone. Most of these programs "hide" themselves during the installation process, making it next to impossible to determine if your phone's security has been comprised.
The good news is that spy software programs are fairly easy to get rid of by simply backing up your saved data and then doing a factory reset on your phone. The most important thing to remember is to NOT back up any of your apps, since that may very well be where the spyware is hidden. You'll need to reinstall your favorite apps one-by-one after the reset. Yeah, I know that's a pain...but it beats being monitored!
Here's a link to a handy-dandy link to a site that will walk you through the process: http://spyzrus.net/how-to-remove-spy-software-from-your-cell-phone/
