Complaints of delayed meals, confined spaces, soiled masks and scarcity of soap are among inmates' complaints.

I was interviewed on Friday regarding the conditions at the jail and the article (very well written by Emilie Eaton with the San Antonio Express News) was posted this morning. It is gives me hope that some pressure is building around what the inmates are going through. The sheriff needs to step up and take care of these people who are under his care.

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said staff is doing everything it can to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. But inmates and their families and lawyers say it’s not enough.

Today, my colleague and friend, Andrew Froelich and I ended a hard fought trial with a NOT GUILTY verdict for a well-deserving young man facing 2 felony counts! These are the days that reminds me why I chose this as my second (and final) career. 💗

PSA for the day. Whether you’ve done something wrong or not, NEVER voluntarily talk to the police. They are not there to “figure out what happened so you can go home.” The only thing you must do is identify yourself ... then STOP TALKING! The only thing you should say or do is “LAWYER” then call me (or another lawyer for that matter) but do NOT start telling your side. Do NOT voluntarily submit to field sobriety testing or admit to “I only drank 2 beers”....

Just remember, give identification and say “Lawyer!”

Sharing perfect advice from someone I truly admire! Please, even if you never think you’ll have to follow it, at least read it and always keep it in the back of your mind. I can share many documentaries and case law on wrongful convictions because people believed the police/detectives. They are allowed under the law to lie and manipulate to get people to consent to searches, implicate themselves into a crime, and even give false confessions. Thank you for sharing Angela Moore!
