ARE YOU ENJOYING FIESTA? Here are a few of the scheduled events this weekend:
Fiesta Flambeau Parade
The Texas Longhorn Band will lead this 70th annual night light parade, which includes elaborately decorated floats, bands, military personnel and others. Prior to the race, join the San Antonio Roadrunners for a 2.6-mile run through the parade route. Costumes are encouraged. King William Fair
The 9 a.m. parade will celebrate the city’s 300 years with a moving timeline that highlights the city’s history. After the parade, browse craft and maker vendors in Artists Alley, enjoy festival food, watch street performances and let the kids play in the Kids Kingdom area. Fiesta Pooch Parade
Support Therapy Animals of San Antonio by bringing your pup for a 2.6-mile parade and walk through Alamo Heights. Dogs are invited to come dressed in costume or to ride in decorated wagons. 10th Street River Festival
The oldest VFW post in Texas is opening its grounds for a Museum Reach Fiesta party complete with live music by Tejano, blues and other bands plus drinks and food. Friday-Saturday, noon-12:30 a.m. VFW Post 76, 10 10th St., fiesta-sa.org
Night in Old San Antonio
This Fiesta staple includes over 200 food and drink booths, live music and fun in 15 culturally themed areas. Now in its 70th year, Night in Old San Antonio (NIOSA) is sponsored by and supports the San Antonio Conservation Society. It attracts over 85,000 guests and raises around $1.5 million annually. Festival de Animales
The San Antonio Zoo is closing out Fiesta with a fest focused on the animals, food and culture of Latin America. Hear live music, watch zookeeper demonstrations and more. Saturday-Sunday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. San Antonio Zoo, 3903 N. St. Mary’s St., sazoo.org
