Freedom

October 25th, 2001 I got arrested and I was looking at 35 years in prison if I blew trial to the top count of enterprise corruption alongside several other charges. In this picture I was on my way home not knowing what to expect! 24 years later as I sit here and absorb this feeling of happiness and freedom I can’t help to reflect on when I got locked up and didn’t know anything about LAW! However when I got to Queens house of detention I made my mind up to learn everything I can because chances were I’d be representing myself! While sitting in the day room area and the news flashed with RICHARD BROWN the D.A of Queens during that time was on T.V. He held my picture along with co-defendant, known and unknown, he said he was looking to give us the maximum time! I knew from that moment my journey was about to get realer than most! I represented myself prose-litigate up until my MAP hearing. I fired every lawyer the system tried to stick me with because I knew they didn’t have me in interest of heart. However, I ended up having to accept an attorney at the last minute because of circumstances out of my control. I blew trial! The thing was, I had to lose in order to win! Had I blew trial to the top counts I would’ve been still in prison right now! But God had a different plan for me. I st here as I type this and think of the thousands of lives I’ve impacted over the years and I’m so grateful that God chose me for this work! Some people have no idea about this transformation that has occurred in my life! By the mercy and grace of God, 24 years FREE! TODAY IS MY FREE-A-VERSERY !
