Some Thoughts For as I Am Thankful for…

…the mess to clean after a party because it means I have been surrounded by friends.

…the taxes I pay because it means that I’m employed.

…a lawn full of leaves that need raking, windows that need cleaning, and gutters that need fixing because it means I have a home.

…the spot I find at the far end of the parking lot because it means I am capable of walking.

…my huge heating bill because it means I am warm.

…weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day because it means I have been productive.

…the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours because it means that I’m alive.

Happy Thanksgiving to my friends and family and clients.

Today I turn 50 years old, which gives me a chance to pause and reflect. But today also marks the 10th anniversary of when I started my own law firm 10 years ago today!

I recognize that I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love, trust, and support of my clients, friends, family, and colleagues, and wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who has been part of the journey.

It’s been a memorable year so far and thank you for joining me on the ride this year. It’s still a bit of an uphill journey, especially because my body aches just a little more each day.

Each and every one of you is truly special and I feel extremely blessed and fortunate for a wonderful 10 years in practice. Here’s to the next 10!

Always do the best that you can, until you can do better. You have to learn by listening.

Surround yourself with a team of people or trusted advisors around you that you enjoy being with, trust and can rely on.

None of us is perfect. But we should never do nothing because we can’t do everything.

When the going gets tough, you want to be surrounded by individuals who share your and common purpose.

You can form your own BNI Global or LeTip International, Inc.-type referral networking group that meets together once or twice a week.

If you work to establish mutually beneficial relationships, they will enhance your business and personal lives.
