Even short periods of time outside during extreme heat can become unsafe for pets. Hot pavement, artificial turf, patios, and limited shade can quickly lead to overheating.

Here are a few important reminders during the summer months:
✔ Keep fresh, cool water available
✔ Provide shade and airflow
✔ Limit outdoor time during peak heat (10AM–4PM)
✔ Watch hot surfaces that can burn paws
✔ Know the signs of overheating

During the hottest parts of the day, it’s safest to keep pets indoors as much as possible. If they are outside, make sure they have constant access to shade, cool surfaces, and fresh water.
