Stat of the Day
$310,605: The average cost for raising a U.S. child born in 2015 through high school, according to The Brookings Institution. And then there's college!

When you think about the cost of raising children in this world, the recent adoption of Matt Miller of four children was motivated by greed, and not the best interests of our lovely grandchildren. Perhaps, he was motivated by the annual tax deductions or Federal subsidies recently enacted, but certainly not their spiritual welfare.

My interests are the spiritual welfare of the grandkids, and as documented by a recent visit, these children are not receiving education or spiritual nourishment in the Catholic faith into which they were baptized. They're not attending Sunday Mass or RCIA instruction. The Supreme Court has decided that Grandparent visitations are not mandatory and have to be considered in the best interests of the grandkids. Since such interests are not being considered by their foster parents, I believe a challenge should occur to this case law in the era of a conservative court. Please keep the family in your prayers.

By your intercession and God’s grace, your son St. Augustine became a great and venerable Saint of the Church. Please take my request to God with the same fervor and persistence with which you prayed for your own son.

(Bring all my children and grandchild back to the faith of their father)

With your needs, worries and anxieties, you threw yourself on the mercy and providence of God. Through sorrow and pain, you constantly devoted yourself to God. Pray for me, that I might join you in such a deep faith in God’s goodness and mercy.

Above all, dear Saint Monica, pray for me, that I may, like your son, turn from my sin and become a great saint for the glory of God.

I'm trying to establish contact with all of Chris' kids since I couldn't visit with them or talk with them after their adoption by Matt Miller. Chris signed a contract with him for the adoption of the 4 kids provided that he give Chris access to the kids on a scheduled weekly basis. Matt is not a person of integrity, and he went back on his word. He now threatened Chris that he would never see his four kids again. He recently refused grandparent visitation with the kids for me, and I'm trying to facilitate communication with them through a page outlined above.

If you know the telephone numbers or Facebook ids of the kids, invite them to blog with us. Send your pictures of the kids to this page as a memory of the good times enjoyed by this family of eight children caught up in legal battles and the animosity of Nicole towards her former husband. Thanks.

Today, let's pray for all members of the family -- for grandparents, parents, children and grandchildren.

St. Monica is the patron saint of mothers & wives, and the vocation of being a mother -- and father -- is extremely important in our society and in the eyes of God.

We would like to pray for all mothers and fathers to be good and holy examples for their children.

St. Monica prayed diligently for her children for years on end, so let's ask her to pray for the children and grandchildren in our lives!
