⚠️ A friendly reminder. Florida's summer heat is unforgiving. Even when the outside temperature is only 80°F, the temperature inside a parked vehicle can climb to 120°F in about 20 minutes. Children are especially vulnerable because their bodies heat up 3–5 times faster than adults, and 88% of hot-car deaths involve children under the age of 3. Florida ranks second in the nation for child hot-car deaths, making this an issue every family should take seriously. 🐾 Pets are at risk too. Dogs and cats can suffer heatstroke within minutes inside a parked vehicle, even on days that don't seem excessively hot.
Protect the ones who depend on you:
Never leave a child or pet alone in a parked car—not even for a minute.
Always Look Before You Lock and check the back seat.
Place your phone, purse, briefcase, or another essential item in the back seat as a reminder.
Keep parked vehicles locked so children cannot climb inside.
If you see a child or pet in distress inside a hot vehicle, call 911 immediately.

Today, we celebrate and honor all fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, mentors, and father figures whose love, guidance, strength, and sacrifice help shape our lives.
