Looking for good clean fun in Ocoee,FL?

Whether you're thinking about moving or just remodeling, the first best step is to clear out the stuff. Get rid of items that you haven't touched in the last 12 plus months. It makes it easier when moving, less stuff to pack and drag to your new place. In the remodel process less stuff for the tradesman to have to work around.

My daughter's favorite saying has become mine: "You do you, boo." and it is how I've been leading my life for some time.

I used to be concerned with the rules. Grade school programing that demands I fit in, stay quiet, don't cause problems.

I love the story about John Lennon as a boy when the teacher asks what he wants to be when he grows up. "Happy," he says. She tells him he doesn't understand the assignment. His response? "You don't understand life."

I love that story.

That's what I'm after now—happiness. Not society's expectations for someone my age. These arbitrary rules that say because I'm a "senior citizen" I should dial it back, abandon ambition, accept my current status and stop trying to impact my community because my time is supposedly over.

I'm not slowing down. I'm not settling. I'm not buying into the narrative that my most productive years are behind me. The people shaking their heads at my refusal to "act my age" can watch from the sidelines.

To the naysayers, I say: "Hold my beer."

Because I'm done following their playbook, and I'm just getting started with mine.

A few years ago, our Realtor Association created something called Gold Key Agent. Six hours learning how not to be a jerk as a real estate agent. For twenty bucks. I figured, why not?

Turns out it was six hours of what I'd call common sense. Page-turning stuff, that's for sure. Earth-shattering information like—get this—return phone calls. Don't lose your temper with other agents. Give feedback after showing someone's property. Revolutionary thinking.

Maybe it's because I was raised in the south, but I'm genetically programmed to say "Yes ma'am" and "No sir." Hold doors open. Especially hold the car door for my wife. It's not something I think about—it's just being human to other humans.

I drive my wife to work most days so we can spend more time together. Florida thunderstorms make driving a challenge for her, so I spare her the pain of fighting Mother Nature. Her coworkers notice I drop her off and open the car door when I pick her up.

They tell her, "He really loves you!"

She just says, "He's always been that way."

Here's the thing—no one should have to pay twenty bucks to learn basic decency. I'm just doing what my mama taught me. It's my small way of making sure the world gets a little less awful. Maybe if enough of us do the small stuff, it actually works. Worth a shot, right?

I Evolve the Machine

Not many people know that I am a Trekkie, someone who is a big fan of Star Trek. One of my favorites in the franchise is the Next Generation TV show. This is where we learn about the Borg. Part human, part machine and all hooked into one another and called The Collective. When The Borg meet a new species they let that species know "You will be assimilated." In a way I am assimilating into Partner.

But here's the twist the Borg never figured out—they feared individuality, thinking it weakened the whole. I'm discovering the opposite. Every morning when I optimize my sleep data, I'm not becoming some soulless drone. I'm becoming more authentically me, just with better hardware.

My relationship isn't losing romance because I track connection metrics—it's gaining depth. My body isn't becoming mechanical because I measure recovery rates—it's becoming my most reliable ally. My business isn't losing creativity because I systematize processes—it's finally free to innovate where it matters.

The Borg got it backwards. They absorbed others to eliminate chaos. I'm absorbing systematic thinking to amplify my chaos—the beautiful, messy, human chaos that creates art, builds empires, and loves fiercely.

Seven of Nine left the Collective but kept her implants. She understood: you don't have to choose between optimization and humanity. You synthesize them. That's my assimilation—not into conformity, but into my most powerful self.
