🗣️ TEN MINUTE NOT GUILTY! Today, I duked it out in trial on a Racing case for my client. The stakes with racing cases are high because a conviction automatically leads to a one year driver’s license suspension. The evidence in this case was virtually non-existent. The officer did not capture the alleged race on video, started his investigation with an accusation (his words I made him admit to on cross 💅🏽), and disregarded my client’s statement that he was not racing. The officer arrested my client because he “ran his mouth.” This case was blatantly clear that there was not a race but the State pursued the charges anyway. I love my work as a defense attorney for moments just like this. This case required fierce representation and I refused to back down. I’m so happy my client got the justice he deserved.

Today was tremendous! We celebrated Sean as the incoming President of the Young Lawyers Section of the Orange County Bar Association. I’m so proud of my best friend and law partner for all of the work he has put into this chapter of his career. We started from literally nothing and now we are making moves that I never dreamed of. The one thing I can say about Sean is that when he has a vision, he locks in. I know he’s been excited for this day for a long time and I cannot wait to see all the amazing things he will do. Last weekend, I taught a yoga class for and it was a blast in the most relaxing way. I learned yoga from my great grandfather from a young age and practice yoga daily. Whether it’s through mediation and breathing or stretching it out, yoga has been a big part of my life. In college, I would teach yoga out of my apartment and call it “yoga boot camp” because flexibility and mobility was a priority. I started a yoga club in law school too. I haven’t taught yoga in a while but it was so much fun to get back into the ✨flow✨

Spitaly (Spain+Italy) trip commence! I have been looking forward to this trip for a long time. I always wanted to go to Italy and Mike has always wanted to go to Spain. This is our bucklet list trip! We started our adventure in Naples, Italy with some pizza when we landed last night. Today, we made our way to Positano and had one of the most iconic moments I envisioned for myself: lemon sorbet, from a lemon shell, on the beach. We were stuck in Positano for a while because the buses were packed and wouldn’t let anyone on. A dad with his family of eight was crashing out so we all bonded over waiting forever. We made it to Sorrento for dinner with delicious pistachio pesto pasta and rigatoni ragù. We capped off the night with limoncello.

Tomorrow: Pompeii (my absolute dream) and off to Rome!

Nothing gives me more anxiety than when a client is supposed to be in court and they aren’t there. My client was going to accept a plea and knew he needed to be in court. He didn’t show up and didn’t answer any of our calls. I was able to reset for the next date and he assured us he will be in court for the plea. Spoiler alert: he wasn’t there and wasn’t answering his calls. The judge issued a warrant because the client wasn’t there and I had no idea where he was. Please, please, please don’t stress out your attorney and keep in contact with us. We can’t help you and protect you if we can’t reach you.

Happy 7 YEAR firmaversary to us! Time has flown by so fast, it’s hard to believe. We have had 3 different office spaces, acquired 2 different law firms, and survived a pandemic. We have adapted and found ways to grow. What started as a hope and a dream has turned into a full fledged reality. Cheers to 7 years!
