She spent 2 years building her business… and then had to change the name. 👀
She had invested in the branding, website, marketing, and building recognition around the name. Then came a cease & desist.
The issue? A proper trademark search had never been done.
A Google search can tell you what shows up online. It doesn’t necessarily tell you whether your brand is clear to build on.
The lesson: your brand name is something you want to think about BEFORE you invest everything into it.
Not sure what your business actually needs to protect? That’s exactly what we cover in a 60 Minute IP Map. 🤍

So… what does having a trademark actually DO for you?

☑️ Gives you legal rights in your brand
☑️ Helps you take action when someone uses a confusingly similar name, logo, or other brand identifier for related goods or services.
☑️ Protects you from forced rebrands
☑️ Gives you peace of mind

But it’s not a magic force field. 😂 Your protection depends on things like what you trademark, how you use it, and the goods or services connected to it.

If you’re building a brand you plan to grow, sell, or build a reputation around, understanding what you actually have rights to matters.

Not sure what your business needs?

Book your 60 Minute IP Map and let’s do a deep dive into your brand and figure out what you need to protect what you’re building. 🤍

There is one question I ask every single client on our very first call. 👀
And the answer always changes everything.
Most people come in thinking they have one thing to protect. They leave realizing they have been sitting on five or six things that needed protection yesterday. 😬
And almost every single one of them said the same thing before we talked.
“I’ll get to it later.”
Later is when someone files on your name first.
Later is when a copycat builds a whole business using your framework.
Later is when it is too late. 😬
When you fully own your IP you get to decide what happens next. License it. Sell it. Expand it. 🤍
The IP Map is a 60 minute call where we figure out exactly what your business needs before any of these become your reality. Link in bio. 👇

Trademark and copyright are not the same thing… and a lot of business owners don’t realize that until it’s too late 👀
A trademark protects things like your business name, brand name, logo, or slogan.
A copyright protects original creative work like photos, videos, graphics, website copy, and content.
One protects your brand identity.
The other protects what you create.
If you’re growing a business, understanding the difference matters more than you think because protecting the wrong thing could leave your business exposed.
If you’re not sure what your business actually needs, let’s figure it out together 🤍

Most business owners find out they needed more than one trademark after it is already too late. 👀

And by too late I mean after someone else has already filed on the thing they forgot to protect.

Your business name is just one piece of what you have built. Your signature program has a name. Your framework has a name. Your membership has a name. And none of those things are protected just because you filed one trademark.

This is exactly why I created the IP Map. 🤍

Before I file anything for any client we get on a 60 minute call and map out everything they have built. Most people come in thinking they need one trademark. Most people leave with a plan to protect five or six things.

Because filing without the full picture means gaps. And gaps mean vulnerability.

The Foundation covers 1-2 trademarks, starting at $2,850 for one mark. This is for the business owner who has a clear starting point and wants to protect the essentials first.

The Power Move covers 3-5 trademarks or copyrights, ranging from $5,450 to $9,900+. This is for the business owner who wants to protect their whole offering.

All In combines trademarks and copyrights for full portfolio protection. This is for the business owner who wants to protect all her IP. The investment depends on what you have (which we figure out during The IP Map).

What’s one thing in your business you’d be devastated to see someone else claim? Drop it below 👇

I have an LLC, so my name is protected… right?” 👀
Not exactly.
This is one of the most common assumptions I hear from business owners.
An LLC registers your business, but it does not automatically protect your brand name the way most people think it does.
If you’re building a brand you actually care about, this is something you want to understand early on.
I break down the difference and what actually protects your name in the video.
This is your sign to trademark your brand!

Book your 60-minute IP Map, and let’s figure out exactly what you need.

I primarily work with women owned businesses. And there is a very personal reason why.

Growing up I watched women who were incredibly capable and incredibly smart navigate a world that did not always give them room to thrive. They worked hard. They built things. But the choices weren’t always there.
That never left me.

When a woman legally owns what she has built she has options that change everything. She can sell her business. License her programs. Grow without anyone being able to take it from her.

That is what I want for every single woman I work with. Not just protection on paper. Real choices 🤍.
Tell me what your business is below. I would love to cheer you on. 👇

You think you need one trademark. You probably need five.

Most people come to me thinking they need to protect their business name.

But when we sit down and actually map everything out, there are usually five or six assets sitting right there. The signature program you’ve been running for three years. The framework you teach inside your course. The name of your membership. The method your clients know you for. That podcast name. Things you built and never thought to protect.

That’s why we start with The IP Map. It’s a 60-minute session where we go through everything you’re working on, figure out what needs protection, and put a plan together for how to do it in the right order.

From there, we work together based on what makes sense for your business:

The Foundation covers 1-2 trademarks, starting at $2,850 for one mark. This is for the business owner who has a clear starting point and wants to protect the essentials first.

The Power Move covers 3-5 trademarks or copyrights, ranging from $5,450 to $9,900+. This is for the business owner who wants to protect their whole offering.

All In combines trademarks and copyrights for full portfolio protection. This is for the business owner who wants to protect all her IP. The investment depends on what you have (which we figure out during The IP Map).
