What a fun night for Susan.

After nearly 3 years in ICU at Kingston Health Science Centre, Susan was able to leave the hospital for a special night out at the Bryan Adams concert in Kingston.

Getting there was a team effort. Susan worked with her occupational and physical therapists to build up her strength and stamina, while her nurses, personal care assistant, social workers, rehab team and other care staff helped make the night possible.

We are so happy that we were able to play a small part in making the evening memorable for Susan in a suite... AND she even got to meet Bryan Adams.

Thank you to the entire KHSC team who helped make this happen for Susan.

Huge changes have come to auto insurance in Ontario, and drivers need to know what they are covered for.

Our client, Tyler Goodfellow, recently spoke with Global News about the challenges he and his family have faced following a life changing accident on his farm in Roslin, Ontario.

After suffering a spinal cord injury and stroke that left him paralyzed on one side of his body, Tyler has been working to adapt to a very different life style - including finding ways to make his home and farm more accessible.

Sometimes, the biggest challenge isn't the injury - it is proving the full impact of the injury.

One of our clients suffered a concussion in a motor vehicle accident, but their insurance company initially classified the claim under Ontario's Minor Injury Guideline (MIG) - meaning they couldn't access all the benefits they actually needed.

We were able to work with the available medical evidence to show the concussion was affecting their ability to work, and the insurer removed them from the MIG.

This is just a reminder that complete medical documentation can make a meaningful difference in an accident benefit claim.

We are very pleased to share that the Ontario Court of Appeal has affirmed the trial decision in favour of our very deserving client, who, as a result of an improperly placed vaccine, lost her ability to work and carry out normal life.

The Defendant appealed the decision on three grounds: (1) the trial judge erred by not adequately explaining why the defendant's evidence was rejected (2) the trial judge failed to properly apply the "but for" test in terms of causation and (3) the trial judge failed to address mitigation with respect to income loss.

The Court of Appeal unanimously dismissed the appeal finding that the trial judge did not err in her reasons with respect to each issue. The Court of Appeal stated that the trial judge conducted a proper and fair analysis and there was no need to interfere with the decision.

Our lawyers, Warren WhiteKnight and Casey Dorey had the privilege of representing our client throughout their case, and we couldn't be happier with this outcome.

It has been an honour to advocate on her behalf, and after a long legal process, we are absolutely thrilled to see this result for our client.
