Yesterday, we were honored to be part of the AGC Nebraska 2026 Annual Convention delivering the breakout session, “Lessons from the Trenches: Strategies and Insights from Nebraska’s Largest Construction Litigation Case.”

Jeana Goosmann moderated the conversation alongside Steven C. Henricks and William J. Hale, sharing practical takeaways contractors can use to protect their businesses long before disputes escalate.

We were also proud to serve as this year’s lanyard sponsor, reinforcing our commitment to Nebraska’s construction leaders. Grateful to be a part of such an important conversation.

Divorce can raise important estate planning considerations, especially when documents are signed before the divorce is finalized.

In In re Carrier, the Nebraska Court of Appeals held that a Will executed during a pending divorce was invalid because it lacked the required two witness signatures. As a result, the estate was distributed under Nebraska’s intestacy laws, which allowed the surviving spouse to inherit.

The decision reinforces that strict compliance with ex*****on requirements is mandatory and that a pending divorce does not automatically change inheritance rights.
