Now that the waitlist has been open for a few weeks, a lot of you have been asking what's actually inside the book. Here's the short version.
Paid, Protected & Profitable™ is part legal, part business, part workbook. All practical.

Inside, you'll find:
🔹A practical IP audit, so you finally know what you actually own.
🔹LLC formation and the legal compliance scan most founders skip.
🔹Copyright, trademarks, patents, and trade secrets in plain English (not the legalese version).
🔹Client and coaching contracts that actually work for you.
🔹Website policies that keep you compliant (privacy, terms of service, disclaimers).
🔹How to work with independent contractors and actually own what they create for you.
🔹Spotting ownership and confidentiality risks before they become expensive problems.
🔹And the framework I've used with my clients for years to pull it all together.

Pre-sale opens July 28.

This is the book I wish every small business owner had when they started.

It is the conversation I have with clients every single week. About what they actually own. About how to charge for it. About how to protect what they have built so they can keep building. About how to stay out of trouble with their contracts.

Paid, Protected & Profitable™ is the small business owner's practical guide and workbook to contracts, protecting your work, and getting paid what you're worth.
Pre-sale opens July 28. The book releases August 4.

Onboarding doesn't have to be elaborate. It has to be consistent.

Most new contractors, employees, or vendors should walk through the same set of basics:
Signed agreement with all the right clauses
Confidentiality / NDA where appropriate
Access setup (tools, files, accounts), with revocation noted
Brand and style guidelines if relevant
Communication expectations (channels, response times, hours)
Payment and invoicing process
Who they report to and how feedback works

When the team goes through the same process, your team stays consistent, your boundaries stay clear, and your legal foundation stays intact even as you grow.

Your Legal Backstop™ includes onboarding documents and the agreements that anchor them → htbizlaw.com/yourlegalbackstop

Confidentiality agreements aren't about distrust.

They're about clarity.

Every working relationship involves sharing things you wouldn't want shared elsewhere. Client lists. Pricing. Internal processes. Vendor relationships. Future plans. Financial details.

When there's no written agreement about what's confidential, the assumption gap widens. What seems obvious to you may not be obvious to them.

An NDA, or a confidentiality clause inside a contractor or employment agreement, does three things:
Defines exactly what counts as confidential
Specifies how that information can and can't be used
Outlines what happens if it's misused

Trust still matters. But so does protecting what you've built.

Your Legal Backstop™ has the NDA and confidentiality templates you need → htbizlaw.com/yourlegalbackstop

There's a moment most business owners get wrong.

They find someone great. They get excited. They want to move fast. So they bring them on, send a Venmo, and figure they'll "do the paperwork later."

Later doesn't come.

Then the project drags. Or the deliverables don't match what they thought they agreed to. Or the contractor uses the work somewhere else, because nothing in writing said they couldn't.

Most hires (contractor, employee, vendor, freelancer) need the agreement before the work starts.

Not because you don't trust them. Because clarity protects both of you.

Your Legal Backstop™ includes the templates that close this gap → htbizlaw.com/yourlegalbackstop

This one is a moment I have been waiting to share.

I am the featured entrepreneur in the May 2026 issue of Curvepreneur Digital Magazine. The cover story walks through the work I have built over the last 30+ years, the philosophy behind HTBiz Law, and the conversation I have with women entrepreneurs every day about being protected, paid, and powerful in their businesses.

A few of the topics in the feature:
Why legal protection is the foundation underneath everything you build, not an afterthought
How contracts are tools for clarity, not weapons
The everyday ways business owners accidentally give away ownership of their own work
Why charging what you are worth is a structural decision, not a personality trait
Building a business without apology, at any age, at any stage

Thank you to Christina Stevenson and the entire Curvepreneur team for the beautiful feature.

And to all of you who have been part of this journey, every webinar attendee, every client, every founder who shows up determined to build something that lasts, this work is for you.

The full feature is in the May 2026 issue of Curvepreneur. You can read it here → https://stan.store/KYBPlans/p/curvepreneur-magazine--may-2026-digital-issue

Sometimes the question isn't whether you need legal protection in your business.

It's whether the resource you're considering actually has what you need.
So here's exactly what's inside Your Legal Template Vault™:
Attorney-drafted templates including client service agreements, coaching agreements, independent contractor agreements, website terms and privacy policies, NDAs, and more
Walk-through videos showing exactly how to customize each document for your business
Monthly Legal Bites™ trainings on the business protection topics that actually matter
Ongoing additions and updates as new templates are released
Practical legal education built specifically for entrepreneurs and small business owners

These are the same foundational documents I'd recommend to any business owner who came to me for a consultation. Having them in one place, with guidance on how to use them, removes the guesswork that usually stops business owners from putting protections in place at all.

The current $195 pricing is available through June 12. Starting June 13, the membership moves to $295 per month.

A quick heads-up for you.

Your Legal Template Vault™ has grown a lot since it first launched. What started as a smaller resource has expanded into a real working library of attorney-drafted templates, walk-through videos, monthly Legal Bites™ trainings, and ongoing updates.

Starting June 13, the membership price will reflect that growth. The current rate of $195 per month is moving to $295 per month.

If joining the Vault has been on your mind, this is your early notice. You have a couple of weeks to lock in the current pricing before the increase takes effect.
No pressure. Just clarity.

A lot of business owners hold back on promoting their own work because it feels uncomfortable. Pushy. Self-centered.

Here's the reframe.

Marketing isn't bragging. It's clarity.

When you stay quiet about what you do, the people who genuinely need your help can't find you. They go without the solution. They hire someone less qualified. They keep struggling with a problem you could have solved in an afternoon.

Promoting your work isn't about ego. It's about showing up for the people who are searching for exactly what you do, in language they recognize, with claims you can stand behind, and a foundation underneath your business that makes the whole thing sustainable.

That's not bragging.

That's leadership.

Your Legal Template Vault™ is built to help you market with confidence, knowing the legal layer underneath your visibility is solid → htbizlaw.com/membership-page

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

And if you're running a business right now, this matters more than you might think.

Entrepreneurship asks a lot of us. The decisions, the financial pressure, the isolation, the wearing of every hat. And because we're often the only ones in our role, there's no one to hand things off to when the weight gets heavy.

So this is your reminder.

Your mental health is not a luxury. It's the foundation everything else rests on. Your business cannot scale if you're running on empty. Your creativity cannot show up if you're constantly bracing for the next crisis. Your decisions cannot be your best ones if your nervous system never gets a break. This month, and every month, please take care of yourself.

Talk to someone. Move your body. Get the sleep. Set the boundary. Take the break. Ask for help.

You built this business because you have something the world needs. The world also needs you to be okay.
