This summer has given me time to reflect on how fortunate I am to do work I truly believe in.

Recently, the American Arbitration Association launched its first Family Mediation Panel as it celebrates its 100th year.

I had the privilege of helping build the panel from the ground up and of serving as one of its inaugural mediators.

Bringing the AAA’s long tradition of excellence in dispute resolution to families navigating divorce feels like an important step forward. Families deserve a process that reduces conflict, protects children, and helps create agreements that can stand the test of time.

I’m grateful to everyone who helped make this panel a reality, and I’m excited to be part of what’s ahead.

I always enjoy connecting with colleagues to talk about when mediation can make the greatest difference for families.

The truth is they’re about helping families navigate some of the most important decisions of their lives with greater clarity, less conflict, less confusion, and a stronger focus on the well-being of their children.

That’s the vision behind Mediator Gabby.

It was a tremendous honor to receive a Stevie Award from the American Business Awards last night.

What makes this recognition meaningful is not the technology itself. It’s the opportunity to help families prepare for difficult conversations, identify areas of agreement and disagreement, and make decisions that support their children long after the mediation process ends.

This one is personal.
Better Parenting Plan was recognized by the Stevie® Awards as Startup of the Year in Consumer Service Industries.
But what matters to me isn’t the award.
It’s the work behind it.
I’ve spent years in and around mediation, watching how hard it is for families to make decisions during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Not because they don’t care.
Because the process often gives them very little structure when they need it most.
That’s what led to Mediator Gabby.
The goal was never to replace mediators.
It was to equip them.
To help bring clarity into complex conversations.
To reduce friction.
To support agreements that actually hold up over time.
This recognition is a signal that the field is evolving.
There is a better way to support families through conflict.
We’re building toward it.

What if child custody didn’t feel like a war?

This week, I had the privilege of presenting Virtual Gabby and the Better Parenting Plan at Stanford’s Future of Law event—and the response was incredible. The energy in the room confirmed what I’ve believed for years: we can transform conflict into resolution, and technology has a powerful role to play.

In my recent TEDx talk, I asked the audience to imagine a world where separating parents don’t feel lost in a sea of legal forms, fear, and frustration. Where the question isn't “Will I lose my voice in my child’s life?” but rather, “How can we move forward—together—for the sake of our kids?”

This is where Virtual Gabby steps in.

We’re building an AI-powered virtual mediator designed to help parents create clear, fair parenting agreements—quickly, affordably, and with dignity. It’s not about replacing lawyers or mediators. It’s about making solutions available to the millions of families who might otherwise be left behind.

Because justice shouldn’t depend on your ZIP code or your bank account. And peace of mind shouldn’t be a luxury.
