As the transcript from the hearing shows, the Federal Judge was incredulous at the government’s attempt to tear this family apart. We won release, reunited the family, and now this father will have the opportunity to seek U.S. citizenship.

Our newest client, another child being mistreated by ICE

December 2019 - as we approach the new year, RDN is working in over 15 different courts, having represented clients in almost 80 federal cases, 35 BIA appeals. We go into Court Monday to free a six-year-old girl detained for the longest period of any child in family detention, we are fighting unlawful secretive policies calculated to eliminate any possibility of asylum/W-H/CAT, fighting a case of first impression with a potential impact on tens of thousands of special immigrant juveniles - abandoned children, we are pioneering non-core habeas claims across the country, building capacity by partnering with law firms, and training other lawyers - the need for our work is great - but we need funding to survive.
