COLLEGE POINT, NY - Two people died, and two others were hospitalized Thursday after a wrong-way collision on the Expressway in Queens.

The incident happened just after 2:15 a.m. on the Whitestone Expressway near College Point Boulevard, which is just north of Flushing Creek and south of the New York State DMV at College Point.

Police say that a northbound Honda Pilot veered into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a Honda HR-V.

A passenger from the Pilot died along with the driver of the HR-V. Authorities identified the victims as 25-year-old Joseph Pulido and 45-yaer-old Francisco Cureno.

Two other passengers from the Pilot were hospitalized -- one with critical injuries.

NEW YORK, NY - Medics transported five pedestrians to the hospital Sunday night after a hit-and-run vehicle struck seven people in a crosswalk in Midtown Manhattan.

The incident happened around 11:55 p.m. at the intersection of West 36th Street and 6th Avenue, which is just southeast of Gotham Hall.

Police say the driver of a Honda Accord drove into a crosswalk and hit seven pedestrians before fleeing the scene and becoming involved in a second collision in Queens.

One of the pedestrians sustained critical injuries, and four others were hospitalized for injuries sustained in the crash.

Authorities arrested the alleged driver, whom they identified as a 29-year-old female, at the scene of a later accident in Queens.

HERKIMER CO., NY - Two people suffered fatal injuries in a fiery crash in German Flatts on Saturday morning.

First responders discovered a 2008 Nissan Altima on fire along Warren Road near Russell Park at about 1 a.m.

Investigators say the driver lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons as it crested a hill and skidded off the roadway. The car then collided with a tree and became engulfed in flames.

Both occupants, Andrew Newman, 31, and Lillianna Mae Pavelka, 19, were pronounced dead at the crash site.

MANHATTAN, NEW YORK, NY - 10 people were injured in multiple collisions involving a stolen vehicle in the Murray Hill area during Tuesday's evening rush hour.

The incident unfolded when a suspected stolen vehicle fled a traffic stop near Lexington Avenue and East 42nd Street.

QUEENS, NEW YORK, NY - A crash in Richmond Hill early Thursday resulted in the death of a worker employed by the city's Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).

According to police a black Mercedes collided with a DEP truck at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Lefferts Boulevard in Richmond Hill.

The impact of the crash caused the DEP truck to overturn, leading to the ejection and subsequent entrapment of a DEP worker beneath the vehicle. The victim, an unidentified 38-year-old, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

NEW YORK, NY - Dozens of people were hurt when two busses collided in Gramercy Park on Thursday night.

A call reporting a "major vehicle accident" involving a double-decker tour bus and an MTA bus at the intersection of First Avenue and 23rd Street was received just before 7 p.m.

Both buses involved in the collision were reportedly carrying a full load of passengers at the time of the incident. Deputy Chief Hopper described the injuries as cuts, bruises, scrapes, suspected fractures, as well as head and neck injuries.

Narrative
SULLIVAN, NY - A head-on collision near Sullivan early Wednesday killed a child and left three others injured.

State police say the collision took place at about 6:30 a.m. on NY-31 when 53-year-old Abdirashid Noor attempted to pass vehicles in the oncoming lanes of the roadway near Smithridge Rd. Noor's SUV then slammed head-on into another SUV driven by 29-year-old Jordan King.

A 9-year-old passenger in King's vehicle suffered fatal injuries in the crash.

Both drivers and an unidentified passenger in Noor's vehicle were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are working to establish an official cause of the crash at this time. It is unclear if any charges will be filed.
