It was my pleasure to help TEVALAND win its tax-exempt status and allowing saved funds to support animal rescue and therapy programs.

TevaLand, our 16-acre safe haven in Hillburn, New York, is finally breathing a massive sigh of relief. For years, we have provided sanctuary to over 100 abused, neglected, and abandoned farm animals who need us the most, taking in the hardest cases that other shelters cannot.

​The uphill battle? For years, the town of Ramapo refused to recognize our government-approved, tax-exempt status, forcing us to pay thousands of dollars every single year in property taxes. Thanks to our attorneys, Julie Globus and Leonard J. Birbrower, who filed a lawsuit and pressed for town financial records after questionable local tax breaks, the town finally settled.

​Because of this victory, those funds can finally go where they belong: hiring farm and sanctuary helpers so we can rescue even more animals and expand our human therapy and education programs. Thank you to Sarah Wallace and News 4 New York for sharing our story!
