We are saddened by the tornado outbreak from this past weekend. As lawyers that serve the greater middle TN area, we have many clients and colleagues that have been impacted.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all affected, but we realize that sometimes that we need to do more and to take action.

Below you’ll find tangible ways to help:

The Community Resource Center of Mid TN (CRC) accepts donations from Amazon online, cash donations and tangible items for drop-off.

Here in Bellevue, Lakeshore The Meadows, will be accepting tangible donations for the CRC.

Further, Hands on Nashville, and other non-profit organizations are instrumental in organizing efforts for relief.

We are blessed beyond measure to live in such a fine community and region of Tennessee. Please consider year how we can help our neighbors who have lost so much. Thank you!

Here at HG&D, we hope you all experience as much freedom this weekend as this dog jumping into a lake wearing an American flag. While this year is certainly strange, take some time for yourselves, celebrate with loved ones and reflect on what it means to live in this great country of ours. We WILL get back to normal, and our attorneys are here to help you every step of the way. Happy 4th, Ya'll!

Update on COVID-19 Procedures

Over the last several weeks, as a group, our attorneys have been operating in strategic ways to keep our clients and ourselves healthy and safe. We have minimized "in-person" meetings and have committed to using phone or video conferencing for most appointments. We have found that these measures have been very successful and allow us to continue to serve our existing and potential clients very well (and in most cases, more conveniently and efficiently).

As of today, Nashville Mayor, John Cooper, has implemented "phase 1" of a program to open our economy. This will begin the opening of some restaurants and businesses. Despite the order, we plan to still implement procedures to keep everyone safe in our building.

As for our policies regarding in-person meetings, this will be left up to the individual attorney but you may request any number of methods for meeting or signing documents. Our main objective is to serve each and every client of ours to the best of our ability while keeping your safety and peace of mind at the forefront.

Sincerely,
Hamilton, Gorham & Duncan

Update on COVID-19 Procedures

Yesterday, Mayor John Cooper issued a "Safe at Home Order" which effectively closes businesses and orders individuals to stay at home for 14 days. As it relates to the Mayor's Order, legal services (including our law firm) were deemed to be "essential services" allowing us to keep our doors open, continuing to serve our clients; we'll just be doing things a bit differently.

Our firm is committed to ensuring the safest practices and procedures in an effort to play our part in the war on COVID-19 and to keep our clients and community stay safe. Starting today, we will take the following measures at our office:

-All new meetings shall be held by phone or video conference and made by appointment only.
-Any existing in-person meetings will be attempted to be arranged by teleconference or videoconferencing apps.
-Any existing in-person meetings which require attendance or signatures shall only take place in our conference room (Ste.207) and not in the attorney's individual office.
-The conference room shall be wiped down and sanitized after every use.
-Clients will be encouraged to bring their own pens for ex*****on of documents, but pens will be on hand for use.

We feel like these practices will minimize exposure to our clients and attorneys and will help in our part to "flatten the curve."

Rest assured, we are still working on cases and doing our best to serve our clients. Most Courts are beginning to implement procedures to hold hearings by phone, so we will be notifying you when and if your court dates have changed.

We are absolutely ready to continue to serve anyone with legal needs during these uncertain times.

Lawyer Up Bellevue...we're still (virtually) here.

Notice on COVID-19

As of Friday, March 13, 2020, the Tennessee Supreme Court closed all state and municipal courts to all "in-person, non-essential" Court hearings until March 31. This means that if you have a hearing that is not an emergency or a domestic order of protection, that your scheduled hearing will need to be rescheduled for a later date. Our attorneys will be working to reschedule as allowed and notify clients of these changes.

Here at HGD we are absolutely committed to being good citizens as well as continuing to provide solid legal representation to the community of Bellevue and the City of Nashville at large. With that, our attorneys will be happy to reschedule appointments or schedule virtual appointments (via Skype or FaceTime). Please also note that payments on invoices for fees can also be taken via electronic means.

We also issue an earnest plea and request...if you are ill or symptomatic, please call us to reschedule your meeting or court hearing. This national and local health issue is difficult on all of us...but with a little help, we'll all get through this.

Call or email us if you need us, we're here for you.

Sincerely,
Sue Hamilton
Tee Gorham
Jad A. Duncan
