The goal was never to work less.
It was to stop feeling like the firm had a claim on every hour of the day.
I didn't want to disengage. I didn't want to care less about what we were building. I wanted to build something that could run with intention, not just with my constant presence holding it together.
Support made that possible.
Not immediately, and not without adjustment, but in ways that have mattered. I can be present at home without one eye on what I might have missed. I can step back without the firm taking a step back with me.
That's what sustainability actually looks like. Not smaller ambitions. Just the right structure around them.
