☀️What an incredible Saturday at Abler-Engel American Legion Post 454!

🇺🇸We were honored to welcome 52 motorcycles and their riders to our Post. Their patriotism, pride, and support for our nation’s veterans were on full display, and it was truly inspiring to see so many Americans coming together in fellowship and appreciation for those who have served.

🏍️The rumble of the bikes, the camaraderie, and the shared love of country made for a memorable day that we won’t soon forget. We are proud to have hosted such a wonderful group and grateful they chose to spend part of their journey with us.

🌟Let’s talk about Friday night🌟
🇺🇸Post 454 Honor Guard, with the assistance of Mike M. from Sons of the American Legion Squadron 454, Mt. Calvary had the HONOR to present the colors for the opening ceremony of our very own Springs Ledgers Legion tournament.
🇺🇸Legionnaire Tom K. so beautifully sang our country’s National Anthem.
🇺🇸Legionnaire Saul B. threw out the first pitch.
⚾️We were surrounded by Legion League players on every baseline.
⚾️We sure did win our own tournament!

🇺🇸 Flag Day Reflection & Flag Retirement Ceremony 🇺🇸

Today, on Flag Day, we honor the Stars and Stripes—the symbol of our nation’s freedom, sacrifice, and enduring spirit. Our flag has flown over battlefields, welcomed our service members home, marked moments of triumph, and stood as a reminder of the liberties we cherish.

Wednesday evening, members of our post gathered to respectfully retire worn and unserviceable American flags. While these flags may no longer be fit to fly, the values they represent remain as strong as ever.

A flag retirement ceremony is more than a tradition; it is a solemn act of respect for the symbol that unites us as Americans. We are grateful to all who joined us in honoring Old Glory and remembering those who have defended her throughout our nation’s history.

May we never take for granted the freedoms our flag represents. 🇺🇸

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we’ve made a last-minute change to one of the featured events at our fundraiser.

The Milk Bottle Tournament has been replaced with a Beanbag Tournament, but the fun, competition, and fundraising spirit are still going strong!
