In West Virginia—a place everyone loves to tout as having a "low cost of living"—a full-time worker must earn an hourly housing wage of $18.94 to afford the average fair market rent for a two-bedroom rental home in the state (~$985). That number jumps to $20.00+ in areas like Morgantown and Martinsburg.

And yet only 58 rental homes are affordable and available for every 100 extremely low-income households, many of those in terrible condition.*

What's a renter to do?

1️⃣ Wages are too damn low. We need strong unions at work to ensure workers are paid their fair share.

2️⃣ We need strong unions at home. Tenant unions enable renters to join forces with their neighbors and bargain collectively with their landlords. Where one renter might get nowhere, a whole community can win improved conditions, rent freezes, stayed evictions, and more.

🔨 Mutual Aid - We sponsor Morgantown's monthly mutual aid fair where we break bread, share resources, and practice community (with the help of our amazing partners and ).

🔨 Tenant Rights - Our focus in 2026 is to provide tenants with the resources they need to unionize and more support when it comes to fighting unjust evictions. We know the best way to fight homelessness is to keep folks housed, and tenants are strongest when they fight together.

🔨 Infrastructure to Fight Back - The attacks on poor, homeless, and working-class people will keep coming; it's past time to build power that is proactive, not simply reactive. That's where tenant and homeless organizers come in.

Based on continued conversations with the need for supplies has been largely met. We do not want to cause logistical problems by bringing a bunch of supplies that are not needed. Fill out the form to let us know if you are coming and are willing to drive up on Saturday, the earlier the better!

In solidarity with our comrades at we are asking our community to help us fill a truck full of flood releif supplies for our deeply suffering siblings in Wheeling WV. We will be heading up to Wheeling this Saturday June 28th.

If you would like to help OV mutual aid help to recover homes we will be leaving around 12pm in car pools to Wheeling and meeting up with organizers there. (Dress to get DIRTY)

If you want to drive up supplies or help distribute those supplies we will be leaving around 5pm.

If you would like to donate we will have a location available for drop off in downtown on Saturday from 12pm to 5pm.
