This post is about an election in Mobile County only.
Sharla Knox is our current Clerk of Circuit Court in Mobile County, having been appointed to that position in January 2023. I have known Sharla for many years; she was 19 when Kent Baxley and I hired her to be our legal secretary. Sharla worked for both of us for a couple of years, then Kent for another three years, before moving on in her career. We both practiced in many areas of the law in those days, so Sharla saw and learned much from the ground level of the law and Mobile County’s court system. She was an excellent assistant, diligent in all her work, courteous to clients, and willing to ask questions and make suggestions at any time. Suffice to say, Sharla was a much better employee for me than I was an employer for her. She’s gone on to gain much experience working for other lawyers and in the court system for several years.
Clerk of Circuit Court is one of those offices that you may not know much about. It is vital to everyone in the legal system that the Clerk of Circuit Court is a person of judgment, experience, and integrity. Sharla not only checks all those boxes, but also brings an attitude of respect and courtesy to the office. She is the person to vote for in the race for Clerk of Circuit Court.
