🌟 THE ANSWER IS IN!
Yesterday’s Evening Notary Question asked:
Two people are named on a document, but only ONE shows up for the notary appointment. Can the notarization still happen?
The answer is… D. IT DEPENDS! 👀
A notary can only perform a notarial act for the individual who personally appears before them. If both individuals are required to have their signatures notarized, the absent signer cannot simply give permission over the phone.
However, depending on the document and what is required, the signer who IS present may still be able to complete their portion.
📌 Notary Tip: Before your appointment, confirm who needs to sign and who needs to personally appear before the notary.
