How long does it take to clear your record in Florida?
It usually takes 5 to 7 months, though with legal help the process can be shortened to as little as 90 days.

Here’s what the expungement process looks like 👇

1️⃣ Eligibility Assessment: takes just a few minutes.
2️⃣ FDLE Application: about 2–3 months for approval.
3️⃣ Petition Filing: usually completed within 30 days.
4️⃣ Order Implementation: final court order within 2–14 days.

Every phase matters — and every delay keeps your record public longer.

2️⃣ A Certificate of Eligibility and court order are required.
3️⃣ Expungement completely destroys the criminal record.
4️⃣ Sealing hides the record from public view but doesn’t erase it.
5️⃣ Charges that were dismissed or dropped usually qualify for expungement.
6️⃣ Charges with adjudication withheld can often qualify for sealing.
7️⃣ Dangerous offenses with adjudication withheld cannot be sealed.
8️⃣ The process takes at least 5 months — often longer without a lawyer’s help.

Too many Floridians don’t know these facts, and it’s costing them opportunities.
